Can anyone tell me the type of air filters some have used rather than purchasing Viscosity Stacks.  Smiley

I think you are confused. Those stacks are just for looks. Most people are running OEM. Some of us have switched to K&N. Those are the only two choices I know about.

Jeff, I knew they were just for looks.
I wanted to know what they were so when I go to Auto Zone or Ebay I know what to ask for.

Those stacks are just cosmetic....  their only purpose is to collect rain water.

I haven't used them. But many here have said they got them at O'Reillys or Autozone. I'm not exactly sure how they mounted them. I think I remember them saying they used silicone glue.

The reason is probably similar to the reason someone would add other decorations to their vehicle.

They were on my valk when I acquired, along with a small, motorcycle sized, set of truck nuts and horns mounted to front fender guard.  I got rid of the horns right away, but did not see the nuts for a while, then they were gone.  I removed the bling air filters after about a year.  They were held on with 3m VHB tape.  Working in a sign shop, I new how to remove.

Fazer, you said you had yours for about a year, how did they hold up after riding in foul weather?
Did they still look good when you removed them?
Inquiring minds want to know.  Wink

Gideon--The paper was a little faded, but they still looked like what they are, glitzy doodads with no reason for being there.  But if it's your thing, go for it.
