The PO said he put risers on. They are abt 3.5 in in length. Any one know the stock riser length?

Agreed...the Aeromach risers are worth their price.

After completing over 4500 miles to/from Taos Inzane, I've been thinking about this. Do these require changing of any OEM cables/wire harnesses? Agreed...the Aeromach risers are worth their price.

After completing over 4500 miles to/from Taos Inzane, I've been thinking about this.
Do these require changing of any OEM cables/wire harnesses? No, they don't. No mods at all; straight bolt up. (Pad the tank, antiseize the bolts, and sit on the bike and play with the handlebar angle you like in the risers for back and wrists.) Replaces the single OE topclamp with single riser clamps. They only thing you may want to do, after checking the wires and cables tightness by turning the handlebars lock to lock after install, is to flip around the little black plastic cable ties behind the bars 180* (if you need to). Easy. The price on these has crept up since I got mine over 10 years ago. HDL in FL used to sell an exact copy for $20 or so less, but once sold, they no longer cater to Valks. The only other place to check for rock solid risers (4") is Scootworks. They are more blocky, but strong. And $120, but their customer service has not always been so hot (off and on). They also lack the same angle as the Aeromach, so may not give quite as much pullback. http://www.scootworks.com/shop.cgi/page=partshonhandle.htm/SID=PUT_SID_HEREThese 4 inchers are sold all over and cheaper, but are the ones that have broken at the single top clamps.

Thanks Jess for the great feedback! You're right the scootworks are a bit blocky. At 6'1 I found myself leaning ever so slightly forward for most of the trip. It would be nice to have the bars come back and up just a little.

Just to verify. The Aeromach shows two choices: VTX 1300 R AM-4120C VTX 1800 R,S AM-4345C
Does it matter which one is selected for an Interstate?

Welcome Jersey. I'm only 5'9" with long arms, and as soon as I got a Valk, I knew I needed some rise and pullback. It was my back, and shoulders after about 2 hours, every time. They solved it perfectly. I should have also mentioned the one inch riser spacers some have used (in conjunction with the OE risers). No one was talking about those when I got my Aeromachs. A little one inch spacer does not seem like it would do it, but if you add one inch to 3 1/8, you get 4 1/8, albeit that is straight up and not angled back for extra pullback (except to the extent that all valk risers sit on an angled triple tree, so adding height always adds some pullback). I found a picture, but I could not find a proper fitment for the Valk (but some have). They just get sistered on top the OE risers, with longer bolts. Cheaper of course. Just to verify. The Aeromach shows two choices: VTX 1300 R AM-4120C VTX 1800 R,S AM-4345C
Does it matter which one is selected for an Interstate? When I got mine, the Valk was specified. I'm sure they have them to fit, but I'd call to be sure to get the right ones. It's not like they sell through cheaper outlets, you must deal with them anyway. It's kind of a shame such pretty curved, scalloped, polished risers get buried behind the Interstate fairing (I have Interstates too), but it's the function you want.... the form gets (mostly) hidden.

.jpg) You asked about a riser installed picture I have one. I was 6' but aging might have reduced that number. I was getting aches in my shoulders so gave these a try. Now 5 hours on the bike the pain isn't where it used to be.

I see chrome on aluminum riser spacers. And I see you could reuse the OE topclamp.
But can you remember where you got them, and a link?

Those added to the OE extensions, I believe, are what Daniel showed had broken on his Valk.

Looking thru my records I purchased the risers 02/2011. I've put 80K miles on them.
The seller was puredrivecustoms and I paid $49.95 on ebay.
I've lost some info with a PC crash since 2011.

That 2d Kemimoto set is for a 7/8" Handlebar, and will not work. (the vast majority of spacers are for 7/8ths bars).

Mine are 4” after a remeasure. They look like The Scootworks classic riser, but I have no clue.

I had read somewhere where someone used a stock set of risers from a VTX 1800C. I tried a set on my ‘97 Standard. The cables fit fine, you just have to find the correct position for the throttle cables so they don’t bind. The rise and pullback of these risers gave the Valk a more chopper feel to the stock bars. They were a little higher, which was great for the mirrors, and definitely more pullback. It reminded me of the feel of my late model Intruder 1400. I recently removed them because I’m thinking of selling the ‘97. I thought they were great, but they may be too much rise and pullback for some. I believe they gave a solid 2” in the same direction as stock.

Jersey, I searched again for 1" riser extensions for a Valk, and cannot find any. If this is what you'd want, there are a couple Evilbay sites that list pages and pages of them and all kinds of other risers, but nothing specific for the Valk. If anyone has them, they might, but you may need to call or make an email inquiry to find them. https://www.ebay.com/b/Motorcycle-Risers-for-Honda-Valkyrie-1500/178008/bn_7062879004I also tried searching Pinwall Cycle Salvage for any. I didn't find them, but I did find what looks like a beat up pair of Aeromachs that should fit the Valk for $21.80. It just looks like cosmetic damage, not structural, and since they are (mostly) hidden behind the fairing anyway, they might be acceptable to you. (clean them up and clear coat the chips). I have no idea what they are saying is 1.25". But they are 1 inch bar diameter. I'd just want to call and ask if the internal threads for the triple tree and top clamp bolts are good and clean. https://pinwallcycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=983666

I went the Bikemaster route on my last Interstate. They worked fine. The outside dimensions are smaller than on the Valk risers, so they look a little off, but you really don't see it on an Interstate. You can also customize how far you want to extend by using different spacer plates. I think they were worth the money.

Now 5 hours on the bike the pain isn't where it used to be. I've also had the 1" rise added to my stock risers for 5 + years, they worked out great. Carl, I think Daniel broke a set of aftermarket Duece Risers, but I could be wrong.
