Did the ride for the Fallen 7 in New Hampshire on Saturday, saw a couple of Valks. Left at 8am, got to Laconia by 11, then waited for the ride to start. Was surprised and touched by the number of people that were on the side of the road with flags, peace signs, thumbs up and other signs of encouragement. Never quite made it to the actual site of the Ceremony, by the time I started to walk down the road, bikes were already leaving. Then the heavens opened up. Figured I could get hit by lightning as easily while standing under a tree as I could while riding, so I took off on the dirt/gravel road, and finally got back to pavement. It rained most of the way to Laconia, stopped for lunch, and the rain started up south of Manchester. I was about 5 miles away from home when I came to a stop sign, put the brakes on and my left foot down, and found myself lying on my left side/back, nobody hit me, but I was preoccupied with the idiot that had come up behind me and was driving closer that I was comfortable with, it was wet, and I just lost it. Pain in my left side, police and ambulance came, removed my helmet after talking with me, put me on a board and took me to the Hospital. Fractured #5 & #6 ribs... Morphine is wonderful! Kept me overnight for observation, and sent me home yesterday afternoon. Going to order a recliner, in & out of bed is painful... Just waiting to call my Doctor. One of the reasons for doing the ride was that the gentleman who sold me the house is a Jarhead and rides a trike, just wanted to pay my respects... no damage to the Vultus, see you on the road in 4 - 8 weeks, depending on how it goes. Kinda ends the Italian Band season too.. all for a lousy Laugh-In slow-mo rollover...
