Hi - Just a curiosity... the OEM paint in my Valk (black/silver) is very orange peely  and its has bugged me from the beginning... I bought the bike new....

Wondering if yours also has major orange peel in it and if you have done anything about it?
In researching detailing sites and youtube, lots of guys get out 3000 - 5000 grit sandpaper and go to town, but I am reluctant to do that. - I have no problem getting out the compounds.
In the last couple years I have become more paint detail focused and tryed many ideas.. and have been enjoying that journey...

Guess I am just looking to start a discussion and stir the pot...  so what have you done if anything. What are your ideas?   Cool

Just keep waxing it. I must have 500 coats and it's smooth as a baby's butt no orange peel whatsoever.

I'm sure it came that way from the factory....it's not just one area, it's all the paint.. tank and fenders...

MDude, if it makes you feel any better, I detect mild peel on my I/S. I’ve done the whole big grit to small grit to rubbing compound to polishing compound on my cb550 restomod, but I knew how many coats of clear oat I had and how far we could go bf you hit paint. You could try mild polishing compound with a buffer and wax. That may delude you enough to quit obsessing.:.. maybe. Smiley

Wash it with Dawn really well and claybar the paint. Get yourself some cheap Clay Bars from eBay. Buy some Optimum Hyper Polish (best stuff on the planet) and polish the bike with a double action polisher (get a cheap one from Harbor Freight). Wipe it down with Alcohol/water mix and apply Optimum Gloss Coat to your paint. Thank me later.
