I tried to go for a short dark ride last sunday morning before dawn.
I got about five miles from home when I heard a 'tick' and the bike completely died. No headlights, ignition, nuttin. Rolled to a stop. I had to call CAA and be towed home. That membership just paid for itself.
Couldn't get at the problem til last night. Thought it was going to be the 55A fuse, but no, that was intact. Looked at schematic in the manual, and there's another fuse, 30A, in with the starter relay.
Got it apart and found the darndest thing.

That 30A fuse had somehow been eroded down to a couple of rounded nubs. Eventually, on this dark ride, the contact was lost, an arc was drawn, and the fuse opened. Dead bike.
A quick cage run to Canadian Tire and a new fuse fixed it right up.
I'm posting this to alert you all that if you haven't been in to that fuse location since getting your bike, you might have a similar problem waiting to bite you in the keester. (I'll get the picture to work soon)
