I've got a very slow air leak.  I've checked the fittings with soapy water and see no bubbles.  Would air escape past the seals in the shock body under that rubber boot?   ???
A few questions.
Has anyone put new seals in their 416's?  Do you know the P/N and where to get a rebuild kit?
Is there oil in these shocks?  They have been laying in a plastic tub since I picked them up.  No oil had leaked out.  If there is oil in them, how do you get it out and how much and what kind of oil do you put in?  I've seen some YouTube videos where some of these air shocks have oil in them.  I can't find a how-to video of rebuilding the 416's.
I picked these shocks up maybe 6 years ago.  They were supposedly good when removed for a trike conversion.
Anyone with recent experience with these and would care to share your knowledge?

MarkT should be able to help you, and I'm interested in the seal P/N as well.

I’m sure you’ve considered it, but Progressive Suspension could rebuild your shocks.  See if they will give you a rough quote for a complete rebuild and see if it is cost effective.

Possibly the seals are available for DIY repair...worth a phone call.

I rebuilt mine 2-3 times.  Progressive sold the kit.  Yeah they have ATF fluid in them.  You can increase the fluid to accelerate the compression rate and carry bigger loads.  I don't recall the exact amounts but I did post that info on this board years ago.  Increase it like 2-4oz.  They worked best for just me after they had many miles on them.  Early on they would support more load.  I ran mine with onboard compressor so I abused them with too much pressure.  But it was nice changing the preload on the fly.  Like, heading into the twisties so pump them up.  Or a big bridge bump ahead, same thing.  You could set them exactly for your weight and they would have the biggest cushion - with the darkside, Deerslayer had the cushiest ride around.  Like a 1956 Cadillac.
