Was only open for 5 days this year, we got lucky to get on a charter the last day 7/20. It was an exhausting day but well worth it as this is one of the best tasting fish in the sea. One fish per man but 6 guys and 3 on the crew makes for a nice bag of filets for each guy to take home. A King fish in the middle and about 45 vermillion snapper in the bucket below. One picture is of my Lil cuzn and I. !

Shocked I had been telling the others for weeks about bringing my Lil Cuzn, ??? when they finally saw him they had a laugh. 2funny   As far as my gut,  Embarrassed well I quit smoking about 6 weeks ago and have packed on the pounds since then.   Angry   It's amazing how quick it goes on, next will be the struggle to get it off again.. Cry   It's all good, eat more fish, less burgers !   cooldude

We do get Red Snapper in New Zealand but not very common at all, Our king fish is totally different

This is our common snapper, Smaller ones are nice eating, the bigs ones not so common, Also pictured are Gurnard (Carrots) and Kahawai

This is our King fish (old pic....caught a few over the years but not many pics)

Great catch Mike, I love to go fishing, I taught my daughter and son to fish. In high school my buddies and I would go fishing before class in my 18 footer and sell the fish on the way to school at a couple of restaurants we knew would buy them. If it got too late we would end up going to school smelling like fish, LOL. Thank god we had gym as our second period class so we could take showers. When I had my Sabre I used to carry a Popeil pocket fisherman in one of the saddle bag. One day Steve and I ended the day at the Arapeca dock, pulled out the rod and amazed Steve with it. I was catching pin fish with every cast.

I never was much into fishing, however I sure do love me - eats - plenty of fish. Mike, in the first picture, i wonder how hot the lady was that was walking by, and how the others did not notice!   2funny  Na just looks like you were the only one not looking at the camera. Looks like another of many fishing trips you enjoy.  While in Norway It was interesting to find that there is no license needed for salt fishing and Raymond took us out from the house on a 17’ Boat with a wheel in the center of the boat having one line with 6 hooks.  On one drop when he reeled in all hooks had a pollock keeper. One more note, the steering wheel was on the right side of the boat but it was mounted  parallel to the side of the boat kind of interesting.   http://s1370.photobucket.com/user/EBeybuzzard/slideshow/Sweden-Norway%202019
