Well got around to pulling the carbs out today. Someone has been in it. Had #38 slow jets in them. All clean. Removed all the smog junk. Found pilot jets way out of adjustment. this usually because of the smog junk. I have a 97 model and pilots adjust to 1 3/4 turn form set. I found some 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 turns from seat. Set them all to 1 3/4 installed my new electric fuel shut off, made my peck rooster to manual vs vacuum. Put all back together and syn the carbs. They was way out. After fine tuning she is purring like a cat. Installed all new fuel line, new air filter. Pretty well tuned up now. I might later install the I/S springs and trigger wheel. Waiting on the 6 degree triple tree to come in and also ordered new tires and better air bag system. She is running the way she should now.
