It's finally done, got the V47 mounted on my custom made luggage rack.  I'm using the Givi quick release mounting system hardware incorporated into my rack.  Had to relocate my amateur radio antenna to the rack as it would interfere with the operation of the lid when opening. After a quick and dirty paint job and I am good for the season. Now I can quickly change out to a cooler, toolbox, my raggity insulated lunch bag, or a 1/4 keg of beer! Man, this thing is the cat's testicles!!!

That's a nice custom mount. It looks like it holds your Givi over the pillion, I like that.

Mine hangs way back on the OEM rack... I bet you wired up your lights too...

I'm not crazy about the Givi so much way back. The back seat is long enough for my Givi to be closer

Even then, I have to be careful about the load in the Givi  Wink Or is it because I've changed my  Givi V47 for a Givi Maxia V 56 ?  Grin

I still need to get a side profile pic to post, maybe later.  I like the position back slightly behind the seat as I don't have to worry about my foot hitting when I swing my leg over to get on the bike.  The Givi mounting system is pretty cool, but I didn't like the looks of the plates and all the convoluted adapters on has to use.  Plus, it puts the case up higher than I like.  Mine is nice and low, which is aesthetically better in my opinion.

Nope, I didn't do anything with the lights yet.  I am toying with the idea of mounting a license plate holder underneath the rack and do a custom lighting system totally independent of the Givi.  I want to totally get rid of the system Honda has hanging down.  This will be a winter project.

I thought about the Maxia over the V47 and was worried it would be too big.  At least now I can try one if I can find a fellow rider that has one and see if I like it.  Then again, I can easily mount a Harley Tour Pack top case on my rack.  Lots of ideas and not enough time.

I don't generally think of a Givi and the word "aesthetic" together  Wink ... mine is off the
bike 99% of the time. On the day I took my picture above I was headed out on a 5000
mile two 1/2 week adventure. The Givi sure is a good quality trunk, though, and comes
off like a suitcase when you get to the end of the day...
