Out with the old...in with the wooohoooo!!!!

Ottawa, Ontario

« on: August 04, 2019, 09:49:54 AM »

I'm looking for a new set of motorcycle intercoms that will work between bikes. We currently have the Sena smh10 but one of them has crapped out. I was looking at getting some new Sena's but the price is ridiculous. I hated the cardos when we had those, so they are totally out of the question as well.
What I'm looking for is something that's really good but not name brand and something that is waterproof as well. What are you guys using?

I was thinking about plunking down some green on these.  https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07JWHC8LS

I found a couple of decent reviews on Youtube on them.

Brian,

I have tried so many headsets (the parts manager at the Honda shop let me try several different sets for several days at a time - he wanted my impressions of them).  I ended up with a version of what you have had - the Sena H10R.  Low profile and they work well.  I installed ours with the "wired in" microphones.

Here in West Texas wind noise can be a real problem.  In Judy's Shoei and my Arai we have never had a problem with wind noise.  Not even a problem when riding with our visors up at speeds to 50 mph.  Never had a problem with rain, either.  Great little units.

I'm concerned that you are up against a rule of capitalism, here - you get what you pay for.

Maybe contact Sena and see if they can fix your non-functional unit?

Good luck!

Bill

We looked at the Packtalk, but they were just way too expensive.  It is just my wife and I and we don't hook into other coms.

In the end, we just decided to get another single Sena SMH10.  We got a good deal on a new one and we like how they work.  We don't need all the bells and whistle that will break.  These are just basic coms and we liked that.

Thanks for your input everyone.

Ya, we replaced the battery. I ordered another one to see if the new battery crapped out. At least we will have a spare one around if it doesn't fix the problem. And if the new battery did crap out and the com is fine, then we have a spare com.

This may sound like a silly question, but, If not wearing a helmet, is there any headset com units that work?
