Mark, I'm so glad I stopped to see my old friend a couple weeks back. We had a nice time chatting about days gone by and as you know....we raised a glass together. I felt then it would be my last visit and wanted to make it a good one for both of us which it was. When we talked about our wives, he still teared up a bit as did I. When I left I took his one hand in both of mine, then he clasped both of mine with his other hand....we then said our good-byes. He was a good man and a good friend and will be missed by us all. Strength to you and the family as you go through this difficult time.

John

I’m so sorry for your and your family’s loss. May the love of your family, friends, and God comfort you in this time. My dad passed in May this year, so although everyone has different circumstances and grief, I have an idea.

Losing this great icon is a blow to the VRCC and anyone that knew him.  loved is story's and talks that we would have on the phone.
Wayne called me one day just before the DRU and ask if he could drive is car down to the ride.  I laughed and told to get the ride any way he could that would be a treat to have have him and he did and it was good seeing and talking to him.

prays to you and your family.

RIP Wayne.

Condolences to family. I've kept up with all his stories, current era and past, for several years. A most virtuous man. Hope he finds that old Matchless and his old Harley up there with a magic starter and a never ending supply of magical gas. R.I.P., Mr. Solo1.

Very sorry to hear of the loss of your Dad. I never met him, but commented here and there on his stories here, as well as one he wrote as an editorial for a local paper. I have the utmost respect for Wayne. My father was a Korean war veteran as well, so I felt a bit of a connection in that respect.

If you haven't yet, and have any interest, contact the Patriot Guard Riders. Not that I'd expect any issues; just because the PGR in your area would be honored to escort Wayne to his final resting place. If I could make it, I'd be honored to ride in that mission. https://www.patriotguard.org/request-the-pgr/

Mark-mad6gun-has a relative who is PGR and arrangements have been made along with Full Military Honors at the cemetery. When I talked with Mark sun morning I asked the same question. I would imagine Mark Twila and Chris and others have a full plate bout now. Thanks. RIDE SAFE.

I can't  say anything that  hasn't already been said. Another very good man I had the pleasure to know. I hope someone takes the time to compile all of his stories he told on here and puts them in their own thread. He had some great stories. That man experienced alot in his days and I'm sure with very little regret. Prayers for you and Chris and the whole family.

So very sorry to hear of Waynes passing. He was a great man and a good friend. We lived thousands of miles apart but I still felt a closeness to him as I have the sidecar with the famous dragon on it that he rode. My prayers to Wayne, his family and to all the VRCC brothers and sisters. I will ride the sidecar this weekend in his honor. Wish I could ride with the Patriot Guard, that would be a huge honor.
R.I.P. my friend.
