My Valkyrie is a 2001, it came into my care and custody in 2004. She had 9,000 mile on her then and she has been loved tenderly and never been put away wet.  angel

Aside from considerable customization, routine maintenance, frequent tire and oil changes...the only repair she has required was an alternator at around 39,000 miles.

I recall bringing fork seals with me to Holmes garage day back in 2011, I think. I was doing the front Progressive fork spring install.  Well, Brett and Holmes said...if they ain't leaking don't do em, so I listened.

I have been known to raise a front tire from time to time just for fun. Well, after 18yrs, 60,00 miles and 8yrs after I thought she may need them...the left seal developed a slow leak. The ol girl was dropped off at Warren's shop for a little TLC today.

She owes me nothing, costs me little and will forever be in my stable. I enjoy riding her as much today as the day I brought her home.

Funny, but after riding the BMWR1200GSA so much lately, the Valkyrie feels small and powerful with that sassy Mark T's mild to wild exhaust.  Grin

Rob, you got lucky that your fork seals didn't need replacement until 60,000 miles. I had mine replaced twice in less than 100,000 miles.

 Cool

Never did fork seals, only thing I ever did was replace the alternator, no petcock issues, nothing but gas, oil tires and brakes.

Besides all the regular maintenance stuff,2 sets of fork seals  1 ignition switch and just bought a seat because mine had a split in it. Not bad for 91,000? Still loveing every mile.I did ride the new wing with the auto. Way out of this old farts price range Smiley

& rear brakes.   Last time I replaced the rear shocks was back in 06 and the brakes 4 years ago.  Yeh, I've slowed down on driving the Valkyrie. We have put more time on the Indian but I still love my Valkyrie.  And my grandson wants it when he graduates from Annapolis, which is even better.

Rob it's been a long time since we've ridden together.  When was Portland?

Dan,
I had to go back to the pictures in Shutterfly to narrow down the date on that, that was the Valhalla Voyage which if the dates of the pictures is correct was back in May of 2008. Boy does time fly!
