Hangin' out here beats a tree on the head any day!

it hadn't been ridden in two or three weeks. when i started it up, it was constantly popping out of one bank of cylinders. when i first took off, it was almost like it was going on reserve. it ran VERY rough for the first 10-15 miles. Got better when i got to work (25 miles)....but still not quite right. guess all that sittin' around in the garage pi$$ed it off?  Roll Eyes

Hopefully, with weather warming up now, i'll get several rides on it in the next few days....and maybe she'll be purring like a big cat again soon..........

Just NEVER had it do this before. but THIS winter, has been the coldest/wettest in some time round' these parts...and it hasn't been ridden much all winter! i think it just needs to be RIDDEN!!!  And it will be 12 years old this year!!!!!

here is a picture of it the second summer i owned her!

I had something similar, turned out that half of the choke cable had broken, and applying choke only worked on one bank of cylinders.

Solution was to manually choke the one side for warmup till the new cable arrived.

never say never. I do plan on doing some events i have NEVER done before this year. Just don't know which ones yet. for instance, i've NEVER been to CBR. i figure maybe if i go to CBR, i can coerce Doc into coming down to Cheaha some year "for revenge"?

I also have never been to Hotglues' thing.

Bottom line, i'm going to be adding one or two new events to my own calendar this year...just have to figure out which ones!

and of course, i'll be doing some old ones too  coolsmiley

Put some Seafoam in the tank Tim... This crappy gas we are getting nowadays is the culprit. They put so many additives in there now and most you get has at least some ethanol in there as well, which doesn't mix well with some of the additives that some oil companies use.  tickedoff cooldude

I was in Houston yesterday and had my oil changed. The girl that changed my oil took the throttle body off of my Tahoe and you should have seen the black dehydrated gunk in there and this truck only has 33,000 miles on it. Noway should that throttle body look like that. I put about a half a can in my Valkyrie anytime that it's going to be sitting for over a couple of weeks, which it has been sitting since November. I also crank it and let it run for about 15 minutes every two weeks or so, just to get the "good juice" down in the carbs again. Good Luck!

Ride it. Cold winter. Longer than average sit. Weaker gas. It all adds up. Just take it out for a lovely little spin around the block or the state, whatever it needs.  She'll be fine as long as you give her time.
