That’s not what I’ve been seeing as far as guesses on the styling. It’s more boxy, old Bronco style. And not based on the size of the F150, but more like Ranger sized. Also rumours of a Bronco based pickup coming later.
Rumoured to have a 4 and a 6 cyl Ecoboost option, 2 or 4 door, auto or 7 spd manual.
If it’s not stupidly optioned and priced like the Jeep Gladiator, I’ll probably be in for a 2 door with a manual.

I've heard they would build a new old style bronco and a raptor style F150 Bronco and a mini Bronco. We will see.

Looking at the ratio of the tires and wheels to the body length it looks smaller than an F150 to me. At any rate, I would really be interested about hearing more about the Raptor version. I like my lifted and modded Jeep JK ok, but it definitely lacks the quality and dependability of a Ford.

This one bid to $21,000 a few months ago... I wonder what a 2021 one would be worth in 2070? :-) ... -Mike

A little off-topic, talking about the first generation bronco vs. a new one, but I always thought they looked pretty similar to the IH Scout:

My son has been talking about trading in his Tacoma for a Bronco his truck is barely a year old, I think that would be crazy but it's his money. Frankly it dosen't excite me.

If he doesn't have experience to guide him he might want to check Consumer Reports, looking at reliability and long term value. I expect to be on the wrong side of the lawn before my 4Runner wears out - was SO GLAD to dump that POS Explorer. It, and it's 2 Ford predecessors were nothing but trouble and worth little when I sold them. Not looking to start a loyalty argument just relating my experience. BTW CR says the same thing re: thousands of users' reported experience. BTW I used to have a Scout Terra pickup. Rigged to plow. Beat the crap out of it during the horrible Wis winter of '79 (IIRC). Had commercial plowing contracts. Broke lotsa U-joints, other parts. Built like a tractor but they can only take so much abuse. To this day I can redline a vehicle in reverse using the mirrors, down a twisty road. UPS and other "professional" drivers are all over my curved driveway trying to back up. "Want me to back that for ya?"

Just hope that new ford bronco does not share the same engine as the new ford ranger. In order to change oil and get at the oil filter, you have to remove the front wheel to get at it. Talk about your poorly designed engine placement. never understood spending only 2-3K less for say a toyota tacoma or chevy colorado or new ford ranger all of which pretty much have a pretty small interior and near useless bed in back when for not much more you can get a full sized truck. I priced out a tacoma similarly equipped at 39K when a tundra is 42K and so much MORE of a useful truck. One vehicle I wish would come back and think is unique/different and would sell very well is the toyota fj cruiser. Not so sure I like the rear suicide doors though on it?

Agree on the engine/oil filter. That’s a sign of bad engineering. I own a Tacoma. Much better in the city and hunting in the bush as far as maneuverability, much better turning radius. And it fits in the garage. It’s all the truck I need so why pay a couple thousand for more when I don’t need/want it. And my Tacoma bed(long box)is bigger than some full sized truck beds. My dad has a new F150 and I hate driving it. If the Bronco sucks, I may just get another Taco. It’s easily been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. 200,000km and good for a few more years yet. Just don’t like all the “safety” BS they’re putting on the Toyotas now. Bloody cameras and radar and all that crap. Agree with you on the FJ. Same reliability as the Tacoma. I like the plastic/washable interior. Build a rack for the hitch to throw a deer on and it’d do me just fine for 99% of the time. Need to haul lumber or drywall or go to the dump a couple times a year, it’s only a few blocks to a U-Haul.

If this is legit Ford has my attention. I'm not a Ford man but, I like the bold look. Would I buy one? Much would depend on how it's equipped. Edited: According to Motor Trend Magazine 2021 ford bronco Model Overview What’s New After a two-decade break, the Ford Bronco returns late in the 2020 calendar year, ready to challenge the Jeep Wrangler and go off-roading. Vehicle Summary Based on the Ford Ranger midsize pickup, the 2021 Ford Bronco will be a midsize body-on-frame, off-road-focused SUV. We expect the SUV to come standard with four-wheel drive and feature exterior styling inspired by the previous generation models. A removable roof and detachable doors may also be available. Like its predecessors, the 2021 Ford Bronco will be offered in two- and four-door configurations. In addition to the standard Bronco, Ford will also add a smaller off-road-oriented unibody crossover that may wear Bronco Scout badges. That model will be around the same size as the Ford Escape but offer better capability when the pavement ends. Powertrains We expect the 2021 Ford Bronco to come standard with the EcoBoost 2.3-liter turbo-four from the Ranger. In that pickup, the engine makes 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. A V-6, likely the 2.7- or 3.5-liter twin-turbo unit, could be offered as an option. The only transmission available will likely be the 10-speed automatic found in the Ford F-150 and Ranger. Ford also confirmed that it will offer the Bronco in hybrid guise. Utility Although it’s unclear what the 2021 Ford Bronco’s maximum towing capacity will be, to tow less than the Ranger it’s based on, which is capable of hauling up to 7,500 pounds. Cool Fact Throughout its various iterations the Ford Bronco has varied in size. The first generation was compact whereas the later generations were truck-based full-size vehicles. Rams

Need to haul lumber or drywall or go to the dump a couple times a year, it’s only a few blocks to a U-Haul. If the Taco fits you well, more power to you saving 2-3K, but does not work for me Too skinny and small interior for family of 4, even long bed is not 6 1/2 feet I need, and will not tow very easily my enclosed 23 foot trailer. My tundra fits in my 20x24 garage with 1 foot in back and 1 foot in front to spare, just barely though. Turning radius for a full sized truck is GREAT IMO never had any issues parking or driving it being a double cab 6 1/2 foot bed length, you just get used to it. I will never buy a crew cab unless 6 1/2 foot bed available and most are under 6 foot bed length. Plus, in a tacoma the bed width is not 4 feet wide having that need as well. As far as gas mileage the V6 tacoma has me beat guessing low 20''s vs my V8 tundra 17 avg mpg, but do not really care too much about mpg is a truck after all right? That is what my cycles are for getting 35 avg mpg on up double the truck mpg.

I just wish they'd quit pushing it back. Rumours started floating about a new Bronco when I still worked at the dealership - 10 years ago!!I just can't wait to see what effect the release has on the value of my rust-free and uncut 1973 that's been sitting untouched in my (dry) barn. Last license sticker is 1991 and I got it in early 80's - worth exponentially more than when I got it!!

Last license sticker is 1991 and I got it in early 80's - worth exponentially more than when I got it!! I'm surprised that isn't a Sport Bronco with all the chrome it was on it. I had 6 Bronco's, in 1974 I bought a brand new Sport Bronco the list price was $5,200 I payed $4,500 for it. That was a lot of money back then, and it was a huge discount. After 4 years I sold it but a few years later I wanted another one so I bought a used 1977 drove it till the floors rust out. I replaced the floors rear fenders fixed the rust repainted it put a rebuild 351W and it looked great then a few years later the rust come back. Lesson learned don't restore a Wisconsin truck. I also had a 73 Bronco that's was rolled over that I fixed up and used that as my winter beater, that other's I bought took off the parts I wanted and then sold them. I made a lot of money doing that. But now they are worth crazy money. Should have saved them like you did. But I would never pay $50,000 - $100,000 plus for one they are not that great, but I wish I had one.
