Was looking ahead to see plans made and came across Ashura , Sept 9th, 2019 somehow saved in the calendar.

Looked up Ashura: the tenth day of Muḥarram, the first month in the Islamic calendar. ... In Sunni Islam, Ashura also marks the day that Moses and the Israelites were saved from Pharaoh by God creating a path in the Sea, and is the Islamic equivalent to Yom Kippur.

2 year old Apple X, have no idea how it got saved in my phone.  And it's prolly on my Mac at home as the phone and the mac sync.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

Just curious..... Is Easter on your calendar?

---EDIT---

I researched it, it seems Apple did indeed temporarily remove Easter, but added it back, supposedly...

Just now noticed ALL KINDS of weird "holidays" including Diwali, Indigenous People's Day, Eid al-Adha, Juneteenth, Eid al-Fholidaysitr, Cinco de Mayo, Orthodox Easter, Lunar New Year, and all the big Jewish and Christian holidays as well.

I don't use the app much as I'm on line all day mon - fri, and just noticed.

I have noted previously there are several "holidays" on my calendar that I don't celebrate and truthfully don't care about them or want them on my calendar.   Is there a way to delete them?

I looked on my iPhone and saw that holiday also.  Thought WTF is going on.  Did look and see other days marked that I had no idea what they were for.

Then got thinking, actually took a hour or so, that these phones are being sold all over the globe.  Software on them too.  Then having these holiday's on our phones make a lot more sense, since they program all of the holidays/special day not just ours.

I don't usually look at the holidays and haven't program in any, seems I do remember the more important ones, like DW's birthday, our anniversary, and kids birthdays.  Thought little foggy on Grandkids birthday.

If you look at the link Serk posted, and use the info there to look at your iphone settings, you'll
see that all those holidays are on your phone because you are subscribed to "US Holidays"...

Unsubscribing removes all of them.

Before I retired I used to show up at work on July 4th and wonder why the parking lot
was empty  Smiley ...

I did that once; showed up to work a block behind the Whitehouse and no one was home.

Boy did I feel stupid.

It was one of those lesser federal holidays most people don't get of, but we got them all.
