I'm trying to change the choke cable on my I/S.  Can't get the switch housing to separate.  The locating pin was stuck but got that to come out of it's hole.  I just can't get the two halves to come apart far enough to get to the choke lever.  I've done this on the Std I used to have.  From what I remember it was pretty easy.

The cable broke right at the lead nub at the lever...it fell out as I've been trying to get it apart so that's not holding it together.

So, anyone recently taken this apart?  Am I missing something?

Stupid question. But did you remove BOTH screws?  If you did remove both just tap a thin screwdriver or knife blade in and give it a pry or tap on it with a rubber mallet. Or both. It will separate

Yes, two screws removed.  Thought there might of been another so used a mirror to double check  Wink , that's how tight it was stuck together.  Used a small rubber hammer because the locating pin was stuck.  It came out of the hole but still can't get the two halves to separate enough for me to get at things.  So back to the garage and try some more.

Success!  I don't know what was holding it, but the two halves finally separated far enough I could swap out the cable.  What a chore that turned into.
