Are there any post on how to improve the sound of your stock pipes? I would like a little of that low rumble.
Thanks,

Look in shop talk. What I did was I cut 3-4" off the entire end of the muffler and drill out my piggies to a 1/2". I then added the truck stacks. Its a deep rumble. You can feel the vibration as it runs in the garage. Definitly louder then stock with pigs cut and baffles drilled.

I cut my piggies, drilled the rear baffles and put Interstate exhaust
tips on my Standard. Sounds good but not too loud. I may drill the
front baffle eventually...IF I can talk Bikerbabe into letting me!

Depending on how far ya want to go, this will cover everything from cutting the "piggies", to drilling the baffle's..... to the "Ragnar Cut".
*Once you drill or remove baffles, there's no going back*
Personally, I think they sound great.

The first step is cutting the piggies.  Try that...then if you want more, you can drill out the rear baffles.  Drill out one on each side.....then test ride.  If you want more, punch out one more on each side.  Still want more.....go ahead and punch out the last two (one each side).

The next step after cutting the pigs and punching the rear baffles would either be going ahead and punching out the front baffles too (which would require shimming the carbs)....or....doing the Ragnar Cut (which doesn't require shimming the carbs).

What's the Ragnar Cut you ask?  Simple....it's using a hole saw and cutting out the rear baffles.  It's a big step.....and if you want to go Harley hunt'n, then this is what you'll want to do.

Here's the instructions for the Ragnar Cut......

btw.....here's how to's for the piggy and baffle mods.......

Here's a video of my Valk with the piggies cut and rear baffle drilled out......

When I drilled the fronts on my '03 I didn't do anything to the carbs. Ran great!

And don't forget the Glasspack mod. I did all the mods and the Cobras, but am satisfied with the puple hornies and can take the baffles out if want more.  Lips Sealed
