Central Florida

« on: August 26, 2019, 07:03:29 AM »

Greetings from Central FL. I recently purchased my first Valkyrie, and I love it. I was always into big touring bikes, and wanted to go back to more of a cruiser. I had 2 Goldwings in the past and loved them, but now I'm enjoying my new cruiser! I do have a question though. Long story short, I ordered Kuryakyn ISO grips and started the install, but to my dismay, realized they were not the right size (I had ordered the 7/8" but have the 1" handlebars). I returned the 7/8" and awaiting my 1" to arrive. While I was waiting, I decided to remove the stock grips and realized, when removing the throttle grip, I broke off the plastic piece that extends out (I believe it's threaded). I don't think it'll matter when installing my new grips (with the throttle boss). Thoughts on that?

BTW, how do you upload images? Usually the button will bring up an explorer window to select the image(s).

You need to upload your pictures to some image hosting site, I use google, a bunch
of people here use postimage.

Once you have a picture on the Internet somewhere, type it's URL into your
post where you want the picture to show up and surround it with image tags.

I have an image at this URL, you can click on it and see the image:

https://sites.google.com/site/hubcapsite1/fcr2016/randy.jpg

If I surround the URL with image tags, like this:

Presto, the picture is in my post...

A pic posted of what you are talking about would be helpful.

Postimage is a good free site and the one I use.

If you are talking about this then it is important.

My Valkyrie

northern Ill near fox lake

« Reply #5 on: September 02, 2019, 07:48:10 AM »

welcome from northern Ill.  I love my 2014 Valkyrie, have been riding it for 5 years and it just keeps getting better and better. some change seats, some change handle bars, some change exhaust, me  I like it as it came.  Oh yes I have added Honda Bags, and a lockable trunk I put on for long trips, that I added brackets to mount it instead of the passenger seat so ti is a back rest for me. with the little trip I just took 2 weeks ago it now has over 30,000 miles on it. same battery, same plugs, only change the synthetic oil every 6000 miles, no problem with switches, shifting, or some other problems some have had, guess I got a good one. Good luck with yours. Oh yes I have the third set of rubber on it, Mets and they are doing fine 8000 + so far. I am not a hot rod rider but that does not mean  I don't enjoy the power when I want it to GO GO GO. My other bike is a 1975 GL1000 with only 22,000 miles on it. That is the bike I ride to the local bars to get all kinds of looks and comments. ride on Life is good.
