My brother and I are talking going for a ride next week Sat, Sept 7th, up to Whistler for breakfast/brunch.

I figure we'll meet at the Esso at Burrard and Broadway. Then pick anyone else up on the North Shore Hwy 1, usually at the truck brake check pull out, after the Cypress Bowl exit, west bound. Ride is about 1:40 from gas, 119 Km.

I figure it will be on only if a dry day.

Gordon
Count me in. I would probably meet you at the brake check

I just remembered, I can't do this. I've committed to working OT every day for the next 3 weeks, UBC student check in. I need to drop by every morning and reload the machines. I need the company vehicle, and it takes about 3 hours round trip. That would mean a 3:30 am start time, to get back for my bike and try to make it for my 7 am meet.

I wouldn't want to be going to Whistler after 9 am, the Hwy gets busy.

Might have to wait for the 3rd Sat of the month, we can do our meet up ride there. The others will be at Joseph OR, and then there is the Oyster Run the next day.

My brother-in-law and I are heading down to the Oyster Run on the Sunday. Leave here around 6:00am to clear the boarder, returning early afternoon. We walk around and look at the different vendors, watch a few million bikes arrive and then get out before the crazies get going. It's usually a good day and always a good ride on Chuckanut Drive.

Paul, this is the same I like to do (yah, didn't we go down together at least once on the ACE Tourers?), and Tess and I might be going down too this year. But, she's talking of her father wanting to go, so it would be in the car.

But I don't want to take an 84 yr old (birthday yesterday) with health issues and no insurance, across the border any more. We did that a few years ago, and luckily got him home in time for him to have a complete issue and a 911 call for an ambulance and hospital stay.

It's supposed to be raining this weekend, and I'm not feeling up to ride to Whistler in the rain and with the traffic that can be on that road, so I'm out.

I've a lot to do this weekend, including getting msb's alternator back to him, so he has a spare to take to Joseph OR.

Mike, re you home Sunday?

Hey Gord... got my first soccer game of the new  season Sunday AM, then my daughter and son in law are taking us out for dinner in Abby for my birthday. Will be home in between but there's no need for you to come all the way out for that (although you're always welcome to come out for a visit) . I do have that other used one if I want to take one along... or I'm out Burnaby way Monday and Tuesday if that works out to meet up.
