Valhalla Rally 2020 - Grand Forks BC


The 2020 annual British Colombia, Washington State and all Welcome, VRCC Valhalla Rally will be held in Grand Forks BC. The date is the weekend after Fathers Day, June 25 - 28 (thurs - sun).

Mike reserved the whole hotel for the VRCC during these dates. To make a reservation, contact the hotel, and ask for a reservation for the Valhalla Rally. Rooms will be held for us, till a date to be confirmed. Please make your reservation early if you are planning on coming.

Here is the rooms, and their numbers. I still have the room rates we where quoted for 2018, but it's too soon for them to confirm our rates for 2020.

There are only 26 rooms. They are numbered looking from the road toward the motel, right-to-left, 1A/1B - 25. The list shows what each room has, and which room #. Choose wisely! Some even have covered parking.

I have been calling every hour since 8. Left a message at 8. Haven't heard back from them. I just tried to book on their online option and it said no rooms available for those dates. I do hope this is only because it is booked for the rally. Sure hope they call soon.

Thanks for posting Madawg, I knew there was something I forgot to do. I did email at least one Vermin, so the word could get out quicker.

I also checked online about room availability, and found that our dates where not available, and reasoned it was because they are reserved.

Redline + 1 booked. At this time, 16 of the 26 rooms are booked, all covered parking taken, maybe someone will share. I offered to pay more to kick Gordon out of room 6, but it didn't work this year, room 20 for us.

The Zoom meeting went well, it was nice seeing familiar faces again.

Everyone is doing well. Gary Wood is doing well and healing nicely from his tumble on the Joseph Rally. Drinks where toasted.

As for Valhalla 2020 Grand Forks, it was decided to move the date to Aug 27-30, with a 2ndary date of Sept 17-20.

I've send a email off to Johnny's, and msb or the 2 of us, will contact them for a follow up in the next day or 2.

Right now, there is nothing to be done. I have asked for the current date reservations be moved to the new date of Aug, with a follow up of any conflicts, which we will work with them to correct.

I hope this works for most, or even all, and we can still have a good showing for our annual international rally.

Heard back from Johnny's.

Currently Aug 27 of fully booked, and he's contacted the bookie to see if they are still going ahead with their plans. Will take a while, maybe up to a week.

The Sept 17 is fully open, and I asked for him to hold it for now.

I also asked about Aug 20-23, the week before. Waiting to hear back on that.

Just wait for a reply, and we'll keep you informed as soon as we can.

There is still a possibility of the 10th of September. The Thursday before the 17 th. Still summer, end of but still summer and it’s after the Labor Day weekend. Just a thought.

Reply from Johnny's on Aug 20-23. There is currently 21 of the 25 rooms available, so this would be an optional date for Aug.

Still waiting on the current guests reserved for Aug 27-30 to reply back on their dates.

It was confirmed today, May 19, that the border will stay closed till June 21. Future opening to be verified.

I just heard back from Johnny's today, and the people who've booked the hotel the Aug 27 weekend, are keeping their dates.

Option 1:
We have the week earlier, Aug 20-23, but there are only 21 of the 25 rooms available. Which would mean a 2nd hotel for the over flow.

Option 2:
Sept 17-20, currently reserved for us, 100% available.

Option 3:
Other suggestions?

Update for Grand Forks Valhalla 2020.

We have decided to keep it on the Sept 17-20 weekend.

We had gotten the whole hotel reservations moved over from June, so if you reserved room #1 before, you still have it.

What do you need to do? Nothing if you are coming and already have a reservation. If you can no longer make it, please contact Johnny's directly, cancel, and post here so someone else knows there is a free room.

We have been there at this time of year before. The weather is mild. We can get rain. But it will be nice.

At this time, the only unknown is if/when the border will be opened up. My worry is, that there was an announcement on Fri that the cruise ship industry will be closed till Oct. I'm hoping the border will be open before that.
