I haven't installed a cover set since around 2007... I took my tank off today,
removed the petcock and did the test at the end of the shoptalk article:

http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/petcock.htm

I've never had any trouble with my petcock and it passed the test. But I
fixed it anyhow  Smiley ...

I changed out the air filter, started cleaning up stuff under the tank and bled the
front and rear brakes...

I still have to screw around with some electrical stuff... looking forward to riding this
bike...

Fixed mine too by installing a Pingel petcock.
One near disaster was enough for me.

Glad to see you're freshening up the ol' log truck.   Keep on truckin'!

Mike there was a guy at work that had to dink with everything.  If it had a button he pushed it.  If it had a switch he flipped it.  Messed up some stuff at the phone co. where we worked.  I happened to find in a magazine the phrase   "if it ain't broke don't fix it" printed in large letters in a magazine.  I taped it to his desk.............
