Fan screeching

Finally got another reasonable ride on the red bike to the Bear Mtn bridge and on the way back I stopped at the big parking lot to practice my u turns on the car tire at 40#
I soon realized I have to rotate the bars up as I can do left turns ok but my knee hits the bars when i try to lock on a right u turn
When I got home I backed the bike down my driveway and then the fan came on, it was screeching pretty loud
How difficult is it to check that fan/motor and do I have to drain the radiator and take it off 1st?
Oss
Just ordered a fan from pinwall for $16. just in case
I like the tire better at 40 than 36

Given the mounting location of the fan (and the fact the service manual says so), I'd say, yes, you have to drain and remove the radiator to get to the fan.

Higher pressures do help with low speed handling, in my experience - and high-speed cornering.

Nothing to loose by trying a shot of WD-40 with a long nozzle if possible. May be worth a try.
