Only this one has a happy ending. Well happy beginning and middle as well. So after all the talk about drive spline nightmares I decided to pull my back wheel. It’s only been half a tire ago (around 10K miles). So I figured it was a good time plus I wanted to replace the dampeners in the wheel.
Well I had the old flange stuck in the pumpkin phenomenon. Now that usually happens for one of two reasons. Either rusty splines or worn dampeners. Wheeew. Splines are perfect, it was the dampeners.
Absolutely no visible wear since the last time or the times before. All the parts are like new still.
I am going to replace all the O-rings and thrust washer.
I’ll post Pictures in a minute
