Not good for riding so I started wrenching.  I decided to take the headlight apart to clean and check for rust.  Man-O-Man do you know how many dead bugs a Valkyrie headlight can collect?  There was almost a battallion of love bugs in there.  Rust wasnt very bad.......scrubbed with generous amount of WD40 then dried and painted with silver rustoleom.  Maybe that will at least stop it from getting worse too quickly.  The rust was around the lower mounting bracket where the bolts are for mounting to the tree.  Then I polished the lense with UV protectant fiberglass polish, and WOW crystal clear and sparkly!

Then I noticed dirt behind and around the fork tube chrome shields....impossible to clean without removing the shields, so off they came.........easy peasy and now that area is like new again

lastley removed the side covers, cleaned all the wiring, fuse boxes and waxed the frame parts and cleaned the backs of the covers.

Sure found a lot of dirt on a "clean" bike.  Now you know why my Valkyrie loves wet days

Well I bought it a Wally World for my trailer actually.  I also have a bottle of headlight lense polish, but I couldnt find it so I used the UV stuff and it worked surprisingly well.  I think the headlight lense stuff is more abrasive than the fiberglass cleaner....If I had scratches to remove Id use the headlight polish and then the UV fiberglass crud
