Hey Bill, that's funny, in a dry sort of way.

Most of us are quite pleased when we don't have to work on our vehicles, no matter what the brand.

Great hat by the way.   cooldude

If you really wanted to work that much, you should have gone and helped the nice lady (or the monkey).   Grin

All in good fun Bill.   Nothing wrong with a Ford (as long as you have friends and tow in insurance).  Wink

That Ford truck looked quite new although I'm not that familiar with Fords.

But I get what he is saying. I feel the same with my "100K mile" Chevy pick-up. It just keeps on going!!
Nothing to do to it but oil changes, tires, and batteries. (maybe brakes coming up)

I think back to my first 4 wheel vehicle. A ‘59 Chevy Apache 3/4 ton. It was a beast of a truck, took everything that a 16 year old kid could throw at it. But, cars back then needed to be worked on. Points, plugs, generator, brakes, etc. We have had a Nissan Titan for the last 15 years or so. It initially had some brake rotors that would warp, but that was taken care of under warranty. Other than oil changes and a few batteries, I don’t think I’ve had to do much to it. I hope I’m not jinxing myself, but I’ve not even had to replace bulbs in it. Cars today aren’t like they were in are youth.

I totally agree!!

For almost 20yrs before my current Job I was an auto Mechanic, worked in a couple of dealerships during that time.
Mid 70s to early 90s. And at this time there was much "normal maintenance" that was supposed to be performed early on. Oil changes 3-5k, trans services 24K, wheel bearing repacks, tune ups, etc...

Now: no wheel bearings to repack, trans service at 100K, tune ups 100K.

We have a 2017 Honda CRV that lets us know when it needs an oil change! Supposedly takes into consideration driving habits; how many cold starts, does it get to normal temps between starts, stop and go driving or longer trips, etc...

FORD = fix or repair daily or found on road dead  certainly not first on race day...   2funny

just kidding,  all trucks are good nowadays they all have their strong points and weak points (advantage and disadvantages) is all a matter of opinion on what suits each others needs the best with pricing, resale, towing, packages, options, etc.

C'mon people - 100K miles ain't nothing if you take care of your vehicle. I've got a 2000 VW TDI New Beetle still running with 371,000 + miles on it - I'm planning on getting 500,000 miles on it before I give it up....
