A we while ago I did a little injury to my shoulder, nothing major but it has hindered my riding and being a typical kiwi hard working male I haven't had the scans etc......I should really make the time I know
It has seriously hindered my riding but things are nuts at work and being self employed......I haven't taken time of to sort it but it doesn't affect work, doesn't even affect using the chainsaw for firewood etc, only when I have to reach .....like on slow speed turns maneuvering the fat lady

A we while ago we had a big upheaval in our gun laws here, total BS and plenty are testing the laws in the courts.... Bloody greens and Left minority government are ruining the Kiwi way Baaaaaaa I better not go on to much, there is a gun buyback going on ATM and the plus side is I have been able to get rid of some old magazines and rifles that had been gathering dust and they paid way way more than I paid for them (1 case I got $700 for a rifle & 3 mags I got for free)

so I have been able to get enough money from the buyback to buy this bike and have money left for parts

KTM 525 EXC with the safari tank as well as the std plastics, Road legal, still a few more things to do like some sort of disable system (has no key from the factory) I want a second set of rims for more road ready tires 50/50 rather than the 90/10 dirt/road I have now....the a set of aggressive dirt tires Cheesy

A couple of pics from a ride down to the river, not shoulder with the light bike and narrow bars

That will replace my DRZ400 which when sold will cover the rest of the parts I need....but I think I will keep my old XR250 for VMX racing (Fun not competitive)

The EXC is street legal. I keep on the lookout for a recent model EXC... I don't
know where I'd ride and I'm too old to be riding dirt bikes anyplace that would be
fun, but... some (all?) EXC models are street legal...

I guess your Suzuki and Honda each weight over 300 lbs?

OK... I think it has to be an EXC-F to be street legal... 250 exc-f, 350 exc-f and 500 exc-f... there's
a 300 exc that's TWO STROKE! but it wouldn't be street legal  Undecided  Cry ...

Off road I sure am a lot more cautious than I used to be...... When I was younger I used to think if you didn't fall off or get stuck you were taking the easy way......now I know I try to always take the easy option.... I will try to ride around the mud pit if I can instead of trying to wheel stand through it Tongue

The KTM is lighter than the DRZ by a fair bit and more powerful but more importantly my DRZ was imported as dirt only so cannot be road legal, the old KR can be but its not in shape for long runs (the CRF450 in the pic is a friends)

We also have lots of country that the roads are pot holed gravel roads that I want to adventure through, I have done some on the Valk but some are just to roughh to enjoy on that Smiley

We have around ten Trail rides a year locally that are not to difficult if you have good tires.... I just avoid the expert loops mostly now

A few pics of the country the rides are in, some of these are taken on the easy family loop as I often help marshal that in the afternoons to let the others hit the main loops.... Can't wait to test the KTM on these rides

We sure do have plenty of great places to ride, mostly annual events but quite a few to go to so I rarely get to do them all, I try to do the west coast rides as it is more scenic

It's not always so green, drought years look more like this

It's in pretty rural areas, the roads in are two lane.....in places

Yes enduro's, hare scrambles, gut busters (enduro but through rough terrain in winter) 2 & 3 days events......but I shy away from the harder events now, a serious injury is a self employed persons worst nightmare. I am looking at getting more into Vintage MX riding, older bikes race at slower speeds with less jumps Cheesy

Now that I have a road registered KTM I may look at this ride ...will need to save some more coin (changes location every year so depending on how far away it is)
