Not sure what the former owner did exactly but he was busy. With the trombones out my bike was hitting 95 Hp 95 Torque to the back wheel. The manufacturers don't use rear wheel numbers so I'm thinking these are pretty well upgraded numbers from stock?

It is an old run but this bike runs well, I'm scared to touch anything on the engine. Not sure what I might screw up. LOL.

Looks like photobucket isn't working. I'll figure out how to post the dyno results later.

One of my area friends (stock '99 Standard) got around 97RWHP and 99ft-lbs TQ when he did his baseline dyno run; this with a fairly low mileage (at the time) bike.

Your numbers are right in the range of results I’ve seen over the past 19 years...

My new 1999 Standard was fitted with Cobra 6x6 pipes upon delivery (6 miles), dyno tuned and re-jetted.

Baseline run with stock pipes and stock jetting was 90 hp.
First run after Cobra install was 84 hp, down 6 hp.
Final run after the Factory Pro jet kit was installed back to 90 hp at rear wheel.

Denver, January, 5280 ft.

I have never dyno’d my 97. So I can tell people that ask about the Hp that it’s 100hp right out of the box. Well that’s what’s advertised on the internet so it must be true

The glaring problem with dyno results are that every dyno out there varies. The shop near me may dyno the same bike and get different results that the shop near you. The best use of a dyno is to check mods and adjustments for HP/torque increases or decreases. One run as a baseline, and then subsequent runs on the same dyno after mods have been done, preferably in similar conditions of temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, etc.

exactly and an experience dyno operator knows how to bump the numbers to boost egos.  just over inflating the rear tire bumps the number higher.  all of that is with a roller type dyno. a mustang dyno gives true numbers and is known as the heart breaker.

See now you can’t say it’s got 100 hp. Lol

Mine is a 2001 BTW.

The base run was 87 HP and 89 Torque. Those numbers come from Nashville, TN not sure what the elevation is there but I don't think it's that far above sea level?

I don't believe the manufacturers HP figures, I'm sure they did whatever they could to inflate them a little or by a good amount.

yours has the R2 emissions cams which cost 10hp from the R1 '97 cams that make 100 hp.  this was well documented by motorcycle magazine dyno testing esp motorcycle consumer news. making the oem exhaust into a 3 into 1 exhaust picks up the 5 hp.

That's making more sense. Also I can't seem to find numbers that match up for the Valkyrie's. One source will say such a HP and another will something different.

Last week I brought my '02 to Mickey Cohen's Motorsports in Placentia, CA, for a dyno test.  My bike has 39K miles, stock carbs, stock exhaust with tri-tips, and some muffler packing wrapped around the piggies and in the gap between the piggies and the tri-tip outlets to reduce the exhaust droning at highway speeds.  Even with CA emissions equipment, the packing, and ethanol-laden gas, the bike achieved 89 HP and 91 lb-ft of torque.

I'm thinking the lower HP is due to the red paint mixed in with the black.

Everyone knows the black ones are the fastest.
