I hope everyone had fun.  cooldude

After several years of older kids coming to my door wanting (demanding) candy with no costumes at all, or the three surely boys dressed as gang bangers with baseball bats, and the two girls dressed as hugely pregnant in slutwear, I opted out of the fun for good.

My neighborhood has a deal where if you have your lights on and decorations up, you are participating, but 90% no longer participate.  Now most years, only a handful of kids are out there.

I miss the little ones (with parents) having the time of their lives.

But I still had some excitement; huge storm blowing through with the largest target tornado warning in my region in recorded history.  High roaring winds, giant old oaks rocking, deadwood banging the roof, driving rain, yard flooding, sump pump working hard, and then bam no electric.  I can live without power for a good while, but not without a sump pump.  And I had just drained my 6-7mo old (treated) gas out of my generator last week (karma laughing).  So rather than take the time to drag it out, refuel it up, fire it up, power cord the house, and slowly bring all circuits up, I laid on my belly and hand-bailed the sump hole until it stopped raining.  Awoke to discover power restored.

Now you'd think these kind of winds would carry my billion leaves to somewhere else.  Maybe so, but I got enough out there to play in for the next three days.  Yayyyy  Angry

Agreed on the tikes coming through, always brings a smile to my face.
Reference those leaves, that wind did carry your leaves onto someone else's yard or other places, you now have another's neighbor's leaves in your yard.   You could always ask the upwind neighbor to come rake his leaves out of your yard.  Wink

Let us know how that works out for ya.  Cheesy

What's your dirt doing in Boss Hog's hole Luke?

Unfortunately, my upwind neighbor is this huge tract of wild wetlands Park area, with acres of old oaks.

Since the only veteran family members they have are one grandpa that was a Navy submariner, and another grandpa that was a captain in the Air Force, that's about as good as their salutes are gonna get for a while...  2funny

And yeah, already dealt with the first dates and such with the eldest.... She's 17 and a junior now, gone through a few boyfriends, some I approved of, others not so much...

She was dressed up earlier as Hermione from Harry Potter...

Won't help.  Straight line from elbow to fingertips.  Thumb tucked alongside the index finger; not hanging down.  Upper arm parallel with the deck; lower arm at roughly a forty-five degree angle with fingers to the edge of the cover (cap); hand turned slightly to present the top to the saluted while all the underside is clearly visible to the one saluting.  Presented and cut away briskly.
