Don, Lots of teepee head-scratching went on after 'our folks' arrived... The natives were quite confused by our 'logic' for sure! Thanks for your 'timely' reminder of reality! DDT

I'm sad that I hear people say they will be losing an hour of daylight. AND THEY MEAN IT. I'll be going to work in the dark in the morning and coming home in the dark in the evening. I hate it.

Florida among other states are trying to get DST all year long. Would love to see that.

Here in BC, our provincial government has introduced legislation to do away with the bi-annual time change. Now the argument begins ( of course) on whether to switch permanently to daylight savings, or standard time (apparently standard time is healthier for us in some way ?) Also, to wait for Alberta (who voted to not switch a couple years sgo) and states like WA, OR, CA in the same time zone (for business purposes) to switch at the same time. As a habitually early riser no matter which time zone I'm in, the time change doesn't really matter to me...I get my full compliment of daylight regardless, but it would be nice to not have to switch back and forth. Like anything else though, governments are sure to make any move to switch more complicated and acrimonious than it needs to be.

The US started earlier and went later a couple years ago (except for a couple states that don't change). As another early riser - doesn't make much difference to me , but the extra hour of daylight in the summer evenings is nice to get things done.

I'm retired and sleep in so I prefer extra light in the evenings (not mornings).
They add extra light in the mornings so school kids don't get run over by the school bus. I say, teach your kids to stay out of the street and watch out for the bus; the hell with early light.
I hate slap dark at 5:30 PM.

I agree with the old Indian saying re. adding length, seems kinda dumb. As for me, I'm with Jess. I'm retired and not an early riser...had enough of that all my working life. So today I go strolling into church at 10:30am thinking I'm right on time for the 10:30 service. Went in, sat down, 30 minutes later the pastor is done....still didn't hit me. Strolled out to the car and texted my daughter about the short service and she wrote back...."dad, DST...remember?" I felt like such a dufus, that's the first time in my life I've done that. The church has both a 9:00am and a 10:30am service and I got the last half of the 9:00am service. Guess I could have stayed for the 10:30 portion and been on time but didn't want to walk back in and see the same greeters in the narthex. Kinda glad I caught it, have to set the alarm for daily radiation appts. to make sure I leave on time.

I think it's good for anyone who would like a little extra daylight riding in the summer after work. I'm not punching a clock so it makes no difference. Why switch the clock...start the workday one hour earlier.

I was the only swinging weenie who showed up for work at my Federal Bldg on MLK day and Labor day. I don't pay attention to that crap. I just stayed at work and put in a good day. It was real quiet for a change. I often don't change my clocks for weeks on end after DST. I don't care what time it is. I don't always know what day of the week it is. It's not Alzheimers, it's just not important to know. You know?

We don't do that here. Well, most of the state anyway. I think the Navajo nation up in the corner of the state sets their clocks back but I think they just do that to screw with whitey.

Being as I are retired not much interested in the clock no mo. Clocks defined my life when I wuz still drivin big truck. BUT I'd rather see the extry light at the end of the day-NOT the start of the day. Got dusky at 1700 hrs local and near full on dark at 1730 hrs. But as I usually duz I WILL adjust adapt and move on. RIDE SAFE.

Exactly my thoughts too! If I have a choice, I'd vote to leave the DST here in Texas!

The time on the clocks might change but my dogs get up to eat, poop and pee like clock work so now I'm up at 4 instead of 5 but really it's the same time on dog time

I believe also the time change will most likely show up on my electric bill as I seem to be turning the lights on earlier. So maybe there's that! RIDE SAFE.

We stayed in a Navajo town last June on one side of the street it was a hour ahead of the other side of the street . No beer for miles in fact it wasn't even allowed in that town.
