Been riding more miles the last few days than normal for not being on a road trip. The Valkyrie is so much fun to ride, like a new bike. So I thought to myself, self.....what have you done to it lately. Well, I came up with a list that may be a good list to make that older bike feel younger

-sync the carbs even if you think it’s running good. I finally did and my only regret is I didn’t do it sooner

-install the Jersey shifter!  Do it!

-bleed the clutch and brakes well, make sure  you do a total fluid exchange

-install new drive dampeners if it’s been 5 or 6 years or they are loose

-adjust the throttle cable so there is minimal slack. As long as the engine doesn’t rev itself when the bars are rotated stop to stop

- good tires and good pressure 40 / 42

-make sure the upper shock bushings are good

I did all these things this riding season. They are all ride-ability issues especially if more than one or two needs doing. It makes a big difference

 - check your levers for floppiness... There's a replaceable brass(?) bushing and a
non-replaceable one. I got a new bushing and installed some new levers I had for
a long time a month or so ago, how awesome my levers feel now... There's little
rubber boots at the lever pivots that need to be in good shape too...
