Since I moved from the Orlando area in August, I've kept my new address from being freely broadcast to other in-law and step kids family members. Today I got a text from my old area code(407) with no name attached and asking for my address and saying "hope all is well." My response was "text has no name" and nothing more. That was a couple hours ago and I've not rec'd. a response. Is there a method available to find out who owns the number without having to pay for it and keep myself anonymous re. them being checked out? the #407-342-9654

Do you know an Elizabeth or Norman Roessler?

Possibly at a 1409 Kenneth Ave in Casselberry FL?

Or a 1075 Apache Trail in Winter Springs, FL, or a 9211 Longfellow Place, Forest City, FL?

How could one phone number be associated with 3 separate addresses....and no, I don't know the name mentioned. Weird!

Hmmm..... Lemme dig a little deeper.

Multiple addresses because it was showing the person's current address and their prior addresses as well.....

Another name hit on that number - Virgini Battistone maybe?

Nope....guess I'll delete it and figure they meant it for someone else. Looking at the message it appears it might have been part of an ongoing discussion with another person and was sent to me in error.

I had an old guy (nearly 100) call me and leave messages (calling me TC) about some WWII or Korea War Vet's function a number of times.  When I don't know the number, I never answer, but whether I heard it on the machine coming in or replayed it later, I knew this guy was not a huckster.  He clearly wanted to get ahold of this old friend.  So I found the number on my phone and called to tell him he was calling the wrong number.  He was so glad to talk to someone, he wanted to tell me all about this vet's function, and I politely listened and told him I was a vet too.  I asked him if he was going to be able to find the correct number of his friend TC (or needed my help), and he said he could.  He thanked me for calling him after we (mostly he) talked for about 20 minutes.

It was the nicest wrong number conversation I ever had.

Most folks calling the wrong number are rude PITAs, but, every once in awhile you get one like yours. Kinda renews your faith in humanity.

Whenever I get a text from someone unidentified, I simply reply, "I'm sorry, who is this?"  When I'm texting someone for the first time, I try to remember to identify myself.  This gives them a chance to ignore me because they know me, not because they don't.

Or the other way:

Years ago, when if you changed cellphone companies and couldn't keep your old number, I had the number of an friend that apparently changed his number and after a few texts I sent I got a response rudely telling me to stop texting and to make sure I have the right number next time! The text came with a few expletives.

If this Jackass would've just responded "I'm not Bob" I would've deleted the number and never bothered the Ahole again.
