Bought this 2001 Blue And White standard today in Mooresville NC. Runs great and looks like new. It goes well with the Black Standard I have. The seller bought a Newer Harley and sold the Valk. His loss my gain. He told me the Valkyrie was a better bike than his Harley. I could tell he was sad to sell it he patted it on the windshield just before I pulled off.

I know quite a few of us see that color combination and it brings to mind the Shelby cars of old. Always felt this gwouldhbe a great color combo for an IS.

I thought the same thing in 2001 when I bought a new Standard. There was two in the showroom side by side a Black one and a Blue with White stripe. I bought the Black but always wanted a Blue and White one. That color would look good on a Interstate.

black and blue, hard to beat that as long as not getting whooped on.... too bad the seller will not be whoopin you now on a Harley either... Like you said, his loss, your gain especially since so few miles on it as well. For some HD riders, 13K would be a very long time and time for an overhaul maybe? I too have a black I/S and a blue/pearl 1998 tourer, so I know how black and blue go good together. Will not be ever buying a 3rd Valk though, unless I sell a few things first.

The man bought a Harley because he was probably getting flack from his Harley buddies. My Harley friends always gave me grief about my "Jap" bike, but it sure didn't get me to buy one of those thumpers. Valkyrie was the best bike I ever owned. John

I would just about bet the farm the reason he sold it was because of being ragged by his Harley riding buddies. He didn't say that but I would bet it was. The group I used to ride with ragged me all the time but I never gave a crap what they thought of my Honda. I like it and am happy as can be to have two of them now. I have always liked being different but I like Harleys too but like my Valkyries better. I could tell he was sad to sell it but didn't want to keep up two bikes. The shocking part of it for me was he was only asking $3500 for it. After checking it out for a bit and riding it I had to ask what's the best he could do on the price and he said he would have to get $3000 for it. Trying not to be too excited I said I would take it. It has a lot of extras including the triple tips on the pipes which I have always wanted.

Sold the Valkyrie fer a H/D V-twinky? Pardon me But dat IS one of those duh moments we hear bout from time to time. ... People own motorcycles for different reasons. Some of us own to ride. Some own simply for some sort of status. The low mileage on a 20 year old motorcycle is a dead giveaway. If you're owning for status, the H D is the way to go.

Thanks. I did feel kinda guilty like I had stolen it but riding it home the feeling slowly went away.
