Anyone know of any shop near Tampa that will only charge for mounting/balancing tires?
The places nearby I've contacted so far want to charge 'full price' with no exception... I don't mind paying a reasonable price, but for what they are charging I can get my own tools and do it myself and still have enough for a good beer.

If you mean taking just the wheels to the dealer then haps Honda does just that but that’s kind of a long drive to Sarasota.

What's a reasonable charge? I paid $25 the last few times...

I used to do it myself, but after watching the machine at the shop take
the old tire off and put the new one on in just a few seconds,

Local shop charges me $40 and have no issues mounting car tires.
I bring new tire and wheel off the bike, hand it to them and I am out the door in about 15-20 minutes  cooldude

I've reached out to a couple other shops and waiting on a reply... so far the two shops who have replied said $60 for the front and $90 for the rear... no matter if the tires are on or off the bike...that is unreasonable and ridiculous.

And yes, I'd rather have a shop do it but not at $150...

@2KVISRiderDan... I did say Tampa on my post...  cooldude

Do the charge the same price if you buy the tires from them?  You may pay morr for the tires but less for the install in the end it may make sense to let them do it all.

I took my Harley to the Venom shop in NPR, to have my Yokohama Darkside tire mounted. $171. I won't be going back there.

I’ve had good experiences with Corso Moto Works in Clearwater.
They are a Metzeler dealer as well.

Good luck!

I've recently begun taking my wheels to the local Suzuki shop.
I buy my tires from there and they put them on. Me and the owner
sit out front and talk about dirt bikes and the mechanic whips
the old tire off, I clean inside the rim, and he puts the new tire
on.

Close enough.. thanks though.

Tire prices are higher, and while they offer a 'discount' for install, it does not offset the higher price on the tire (at least not the places I've contacted).

Gondul, sorry I missed the Tampa location in your original post. I am in Valrico, just east of Brandon.  PM me and we can talk. I know several bike shops in east Hillsborough County and at least one independent tire shop that will mount a car tire on a MC rim if you take the tire & rim to them.

There is always Cycle Gear, carry them in, quick and cheap. Just tires, no need to pay cycle shop rates.

Is $50 a tire cheap?  Because that is what the local one charges...

I have used cycle gear, $30 mount and balance. That is off the bike and carry in.

OTC Powersports in Carrollwood quoted $40 mount and balance if you bring in the wheel.
