Today is my wife's birthday.  No, Connie isn't my wife, Donna is, but their birthdays fall on the same day of the year.  Happy Birthday to both of you.

Being a curious sort, I just had to look at the personal profile and got a good belly laugh. In the age bracket you have in big letters: N/A followed by a piece of cake.  2funny Way to go.  cooldude

And I echo the others...let this be the first of many more. Hope it was a memorable day....and you got to chose which Burger King you went to for your b'day dinner.  cooldude Grin (I'm certain that wasn't the case but still had to pull that chain)

Haha!  This was actually a bit of a milestone birthday... I hit the SSA early retirement age.  Unfortunately, still 4 1/2 years from full retirement age.  But, hitting the early age, puts a new perspective on going to work every day (IOW, no one piss me off too bad... LOL).

That was exactly my attitude when I turned 65. I went on full SS early that year and when added to my salary was a pretty nice income. But, during the following year I found out a new computer program was coming down from Tallahassee(worked for the state) that would replace a perfectly adequate and fully functional program already in use. It was going to involve ten days training in Tally, then another minimum 2 wks. OJT in the field office where I was stationed. Once fully trained(?), it was going to be my duty to train the rest of the staff, not my idea of fun. I had a number of friends in the capital that kept me appraised of dates for launching it. That year I turned 66 in April and the program and my scheduled training was to begin May 1st. I decided this old dog only wanted to learn tricks that interested me so I applied for retirement as of April 30, 2004, would have had to retire in less than a year anyway due to the program I was in and IRS rules. I left behind a few folks that were a bit PO'd but they had 2 months to prepare. The nice thing about the retirement party was all the gals in the office lined up and gave big hugs and a few smacks on the cheek....as did the guys, sans the smacks.  Wink
