Yesterday, a day that will live in infamy, the Japanese attacked the Pacific Fleet at Pearl Harbor.

Within 24 hours they had also launched invasion forces for Guam and Wake Island as well. Several other events in the south pacific also happened - Australia was seriously concerned that they would attempt to invade them as well. The British also lost a battleship due to lack of aircover. The Japanese offensive continued unchecked until Midway.

Before I was born but not by much !!!     Remember every year - my dad and four uncles served and all came home - fortunately !

Not to be picky but I believe Roosevelt said "a date" that will live in infamy"....to emphasize the actual date for future reference and not a particular day cooldude

Been right there at The USS Arizona couple of times.  Cry What I have NOT visited that I regret to this day is The Veterans Cemetery called The Punch Bowl. I've been at sea in a lot of the areas WWII battles took place and cruised over WWII Naval wrecks from both Fleets-American and Japanese. When I got to Pearl the first time Japanese damage from their strafing aircraft was still present in some of the concrete structures. I was on the USS Yorktown CVS10 twice when we dropped a wreath over the last known position of USS Yorktown CV 5. To this very day I get Very emotional when Taps is blown. As a side note I had 4 notifications of WWII Veterans being laid to Rest with Honors from The Patriot Guard Riders. Long as I breathe I Will NEVER Forget.

They awoke the sleeping giant, murdered and raped their way throughout the Far East and Pacific and got what they had coming to them.

Never forgotten.  Always a solemn day for our family.
News reported this morning that only three crew members of the USS Arizona still live.
Time waits for no man, bless them all. angel

Was in a bar in Japan one night with some friends gittin loaded like a good Airedale Squid. One of the bar girls tried to give an Ordnence Man 1st class-E-6-some kaka bout Pearl Harbor. She said boldly-we-Japanese-almost killed your entire fleet that day. The E-6 sets his drink down and Very loudly states-Hiroshima and then Nagasaki. The bar girl left in tears. Had they instead left us alone we would not have unleashed a nuclear holocaust on them. Awakening a Sleeping Giant INDEED! RIDE SAFE.
