Howdy,

I picked up a new Valk over Thanksgiving and would love to ride with some other Valkoholics.  I'm in the Air Force (Maxwell AFB) and living in Prattville (near Montgomery).  Anyone in my neck of the woods?

Cheers,
Ben

We have a nice Valkyrie Rally every year on Cheaha Mountain ( highest point in Alabama ) it sells out however you can get on a waiting list and if the weather that weekend is'nt perfect the fair weather bikers will cancel out and rooms will become available. Check the link for more information.

Welcome to the VRCC. You on a Valk now, we're all in your neck of the woods. Just add gas and go for a ride.

I think he claims Titus Al. as his home.  He is the state rep for Al.  We live near Gainesville Fl. and rode to Dothan Al. for lunch one day.  Don't remember the mileage, but it took all day to go there, eat and kick tires and return home at dark.  These bikes like to stretch their legs so to speak.

There are several of us Valk owners here in Bama...I know of several here in the North AL area, I'm sure there are several down in your neck of the woods too.  Welcome!

Tim "Redvalk" Moore works at Maxwell. He puts on Cheaha rally in May. I live near Dothan, about 100 miles from you. Will be at Wetumpka this Saturday. (12th).

Hey Ben....

Welcome to the board.  This morning I followed this red & white valk all the way down Hwy 31 from Prattville to the Maxwell gate around 8:15 - 8:30.  Could that have been you?

Anyway, my name is Donald (MrStankie).  I live in Prattville also and I ride a blue & silver interstate.  I don't have a lot of time to ride but... I enjoy it when I do.  Get in touch when you can and maybe we can catch some wind.

Are you new to the area or just new to the Valkyrie?

had you said a red and white...all the way down 231....about 800 or so....i would say that would have been ME. i take 231 all the way down 25 miles from where i live near Titus...to GUNTER.

so today, apparently there was a red and white going down 31 to Maxwell AFB about 815...and ....in a parallel universe just a few miles away...ANOTHER red and white going down 231 to Gunter AFB....at about the same time  cooldude Cheesy cooldude Wink cooldude

Donald,

Yeah, that was me in the white helmet on the red and white Valk this morning on the way to Maxwell!  What a small world.

This was the best weather today for riding since I bought the bike.  I'm loving it!

Now I just have to sell my Sportster for gas money.  Wink

Hey, I agree with Santa.... Pleasantly pleasing to see so many Bama Valkers around.

Tim... I've been lurking around for a few years now.  Bought my first Valk in 2005.  My work and family don't allow me much free time.  I do try to read the board at some time every day even though I don't speak up very often.

Ben... What brand is your helmet?   Are those air vents coming out the back?  I couldn't get close enough to tell during the 8:00 rush hour traffic yesterday.  Anyways, it's a good looking helmet.

argghhhhhhhhh. I JUST saw this. it was posted friday 440PM.....and i don't check the board on weekends. My last check is about 400 PM Friday...then i don't check any boards/messages again until Monday morning ...about 730 or so.

Next time, give me more notice....and barring bad weather, i will be there! Speaking of Maxwell.....i ride with the Green Knights Chapter out of Maxwell/Gunter. They have rides too....with "a bunch of Maxwell dudes". You should join us!

Refresh my memory....i assume you have a Valk? What color/year/kind? Have we met? etc, etc.....

as it was, i wound up spending ALL day over in Auburn building my daughter a lean too/shelter and fixing a fence in a pasture ....where she will moving one or two of her horses to....so she can ride while in college. She'll move the horses over from our ranch as soon as we get her shelter and fencing done. We almost got it finished....but we ran out of daylight......

anyway, give me some more notice. And...if you haven't already done so...drop me an email ....and i can add you to our Alabama email list. i can also hook you up with the Green Knights Maxwell chapter...if you want........
