Let us not forget the attack of Pearl Harbor.  I had 2 uncles there.  Both retired from the military after serving many years.  Many were not so lucky.

You beat me to it.  Ever since I was old enough to understand the significance of the "Day that lives in Infamy", especially on December 7, I pause and pay my respects to the brave souls that lost their lives that morning.

I also remember it. I listened to FDR in his speech to Congress.  It was the right response to an act of War .
Too bad FDR or Harry Truman aren't around today to handle the terrorists.

My Dad was there at Hickam Field, with the Army corp of engineers. Then served the rest of the war in the south pacific, never would talk much about it.

Don't forget?  People have already forgotten about the number of American deaths at Pearl Harbor and the entire WWII.  Just look at all the Toyotas and Hondas running around.  These people will soon forget about 9-11-01.  They'll be driving around in Jihad LE's and Taliban Si's and brag that they are a better car.

Shocked Did some checking - after reading the posts - talked to one my uncles to get the straight scoop.

Seems that one of my Uncle's was at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked (USS Gamble) he was at a Hotel and was called back to the ship - the fight was on but they managed to get the Gamble out of harms way, and was taking shots at the attacking planes.

The other Uncle was in Panama at the time on submarine duty patroling for U-boats.

Thanks for their service  cooldude

You cant help but think every day how many Brave souls gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, i am glad to see even in my family we still have the will to stand up for our freedoms, and not surrender to the constant attack on our rights as Americans. Looks like i will be putting a vertical pole out front soon! so ole glory can stand Taller.http://biggovernment.com/2009/12/10/a-veteran-who-has-earned-the-right-to-display-old-glory/#more-43834

Don't you ride a Honda?  Not a flame, it's just hard to completely stay American in this day and age.  We just bought a new car, a RAV4.  I really tried to steer my wife in the direction of an American car (I really like the Merc. Milan), but she has had good luck with Japanese made cars in the past and we have had poor luck with a couple of American cars recently.  What this decision ultimately came down to was....if she's happy, I'm happy.  Smiley

Hmmm Last I checked Cadillac was made in Mexico as are other models.

I'd Trust a Japanese with my Quality rather then a Mexican.( I don't mean this in a racist way either, it is simple bus model third world country vs an industrial giant).

I spent over 14 yrs working on cars in dealerships and we would have to do a PDI ( pre delivery inspection) on new vehicles. Most that came from Mexico had one side of the truck or car having different logos on each side. and countless other problems. Good thing a Good Ole American
Had their back before the car landed in your driveway.

My Toyota was Built in California By Americans.

So if in your heart you feel your American for Buying a so called American car, well good for you.
Too bad you have a blind eye.

If you really think G.M. is thinking about you and your fellow countryman your dreaming.

The Day American companies bring jobs back to the homeland, I will be among the first to put that bumper sticker back on that says buy American.
