.....yep...today was..THE Day...mark it down in your calendars for all of man kinds History......Today I Rode..  Cool

....it was 40 degrees today...no sun...but I didnt care...I was on a mission....went out in the cold garage...turned on the light...took the cover off....and wheeled my baby out into the light of day... ...went in the kitchen, and crawled under the table...there....sitting quietly all winter, on trickle charge was my brand new battery...unplugged her and took her outside and carefully slid her in rightful place...hooking up the terminals, along with a few other wires....turned the gas "on"....slid the choke alllllllll the way down....turned the key and.....she turned and turned...but didnt wanna start....tried it over and over until I smelled gas....turned off the choke...hooked up a 10 amp charger to giver her a little more juice...she started turning faster...alsmost catching....(did I mention it was ..below zero...more days then I care to think about this winter ? )......put the choke...back on...turned the key and hit the starter...again...and......she turned right over and started...weak at first....but after about 5 minutes she was getting stronger and stronger....until......VRRRRRROOOOOOMMMMMM.....my Custom Pipes By Johnny....were sounding Oooooohhhhhh Sooooooo Sweeeetttttttt  cooldude ....I let her Idle for about 10 minutes and looked down at the end of the drive....*tweeking* that throttle had made me wanna do a...quick change of plans....instead of being satisfied that I had a live throttle in my hand...I now wanted to.....ride.....up the street....down the street.....I had the fever bad...Ohhhhhh Yeeeeahhhhh...  Cool .....I only had one problem...how do I get her to the street ?

......I bolted the seat back on, and came up with a plan....getting the necessary tools would be important...so I went in the garage and rummaged around for a while....this was gonna take some doing....so I took my jacket off and got to it...

......now this Ice was nice and thin on the edges...but a good 5 inches thick in the middle...and frozen solid to the concrete driveway....I started our with my chopper and easily cleared two feet of soft ice...but then all of a sudden...I was stopped dead in my tracks...so I got out my pick and started to "carefully".....chop away at the Ice....it wasnt that hard at first...but then I got to the really thick part in the middle and with water under it...it had frozen soild to the concrete...and was hell getting up....so slowly...tediously....2 inches at a time...I chopped and chopped for an hout and a half...water splashing up in my face....thinking surely...my neighbors were staring out their windows in disbelief..shaking their heads and going....see mabel..I told ya that jersey boy was crazy ! .....but wait...I forgot....they ALREADY ...knew that..  Smiley ...lemme tell ya....it was hard as hell getting that damn Ice up...but this is where my OCD comes in handy..  Evil ..finally...after picking and shoveling ALOT of ice...I made it through to the  street....

. ....excitedly...I ran back inside and informed Chili I was suddenly in desperate need of a...Photo Journalist...and guess what...she was it ! ....I ran back outside and mounted my sweet State ....tweeking the throttle a few times..I carefully made my way down the path I had just tediously carved and....I was in the wind !. ...I shot up the street....taking her up to 60...turned around...and shot back past the house...my sweet lil Chili snapping away the whole time......its been a long....freezing....brutal....Icy....snowy....winter....but its finally over..(for the most part).....and Im am once again...fleetingly...in the wind.....

.....God Bless America !! ..  coolsmiley

.....so let that be a lesson to ya kiddies...if yer on the verge of mass murder...and ya need some wind BAD....to hell with what the neighbors think....get out there with yer Ice pick...and HAVE AT IT !! ..  coolsmiley

All Right Timbr!!! Where there's a will, and all that stuff. You probably have lots of salt still on the roads so be careful man! Glad you got some wind. I did a few miles, just to get the dust off.

Glad you got a ride in. Ron and I got out today also! It's been a LONG COLD #######
winter. We had spring like temps here today and just had to get out there. We were only out about an hour - Ron had a touch up on his eye done yesterday (lazer) and we didn't want to chance causing any damage.
Sure felt good!!!

Glad to hear ya got some ridin' in.
Makes me appreciate how easy it was/is to ride here most of the time.
fun read. Thanks Timber.

I thought about you the other day. I was looking at that pile of snow pushed up in the corner of the walmart parking lot trying to imagine what miles of snow that thick would feel like. I thought about taking my Valk's pic in front of the snow pile to see if it would look like it was stuck on a glacier somewhere, but alas had no camera.

I'm here in Staples MN and can't get  mine out of the pole barn. All winter i walk past it and piss and moan. I did take the snowmobile out for a ride. The snow is starting to release it's grip on us. So it's not quit great snowmobiling. So i said to myself take out the 4 wheeler. That was a mistake had to walk back and get a shovel to get it unstuck [it.s a 4x4] by the way. So after all that i said to my wife lets go to Left's bar and attend the fri. night safety meeting.  Cheesy
