Donald Trump’s ‘Home Alone 2’ Scene Cut From Broadcast In Canada Over Christmas Holidays

President Trump is 100 percent correct. The mainstream media is the enemy of the people. Sadly, Canadians emboldened the corrupt and bias CBC when they re-elected Justin Trudeau in October.

Donald Trump’s ‘Home Alone 2’ Scene Reportedly Cut From Broadcast In Canada Over Christmas Holidays

    By Newsweek, December 26, 2019:

Donald Trump’s cameo has reportedly been edited out of broadcasts of Home Alone 2: Lost in New York shown in Canada on CBC.

News of the alteration was shared on social media before it was picked up by ComicBook.com. Contacted by the website, CBC said the cameo was to squeeze in commercial time. “As is often the case with features adapted for television, Home Alone 2 was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” CBC told ComicBook.com. Newsweek has contacted CBC for comment.

The news has been met with mixed reactions. “When CBC edits out Donald Trump from home alone,” one user tweeted on December 15, 2019, with a reaction of Meryl Streep clapping.

While the omission may be receiving renewed attention this holiday season, it is not the first time Donald Trump’s interaction with Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) in the the lobby of the Plaza Hotel has been cut from the 1992 film. Trump’s absence from the CBC broadcast has been picked up in previous years.

“CBC cut out the ‘Home Alone II’ Donald Trump cameo,” one user tweeted in 2015.

Some users have accused the Canadian broadcaster of censorship, while others suggested it was “triggered.”

“CBC TV in Canada has cut Donald Trump’s Home Alone 2 cameo out of their broadcast. They’re so triggered by him that they had to edit him out of the film. Absolutely pathetic,” Ryan Fournier, a co-founder of the organization “Student’s For Trump.”

They just can't stop themselves. It's funny.

I would have said the same about the ODS'ers.

Looking at accomplishments of the two men, there's no comparison. Obama did much less beneficial stuff for the US public in his eight years than his Republican counterpart has in his first two....possibly an even shorter period. Is Trump the perfect POTUS? Good grief....no, but then none of his 44 predecessors were either. I don't agree with all he does or proposes, but he's a much smarter operator than most and more above board than that last White House resident....hands down. I'll say this much about him....if we ever have to go to a widespread war again similar to WWII, I sincerely hope we have someone like him in the Oval Office.

The Canadian version of Tass or Pravda media that I was mentioning on the Virginia 2nd amendment thread???...that's one of them, actually the worst one!! Tass and Pravda were Soviet Union Propaganda...shhhh "the walls have ears"(LOL)
You literally couldn't make this kind of stuff up...nobody would believe you. Canada is funding National Media Snowflakes with TDS.  2funny

Man, I really want to thank you all for almost a daily laugh. I just can't believe the different things that trigger these responses and different conspiracy theories.

To conflate communists with a silly kids movie.

Like someone just said, you can't make this stuff up!

If anyone bothered to look a little further than their favorite red-meat news source, they would have seen that the edit was done long before the election....

"The Canadian Broadcasting Company decided to cut President Donald Trump’s cameo from “Home Alone 2: Lost In New York,” and his supporters immediately suspected a conspiracy.

In one of the 1992 film’s scenes, star Macauley Culkin walks through the Plaza Hotel, which was owned by Trump at the time, and asks the Donald himself for directions to the lobby.

“Down the hall and to the left,” the future president replies.

A cute scene, but not essential to the plot, which is probably why the scene did not appear in the version aired by the CBC earlier this week.

“As is often the case with features adapted for television, ‘Home Alone 2’ was edited to allow for commercial time within the format,” a network spokesperson told ComicBook.com.

Lest you think there was a conspiracy afoot, the CBC clarified in a Thursday tweet that “several” cuts had been made, and all the editing took place in 2014, long before Trump was president.

@CBCAlerts
CBC responds to criticism that short scene featuring Donald Trump was deleted from movie Home Alone 2, which aired recently. Spokesperson says 'several' cuts made for time. 'These edits were done in 2014 when we first acquired the film and before Mr. Trump was elected president.'

Their statement is corroborated by a 2015 tweet from Twitter user Garrick Kozier, who noted at the time that Trump’s cameo hadn’t made the cut.

Still, that didn’t stop some Trump supporters from having a meltdown like, well, snowflakes.

In that I will agree with you Baldo, people tend to be sheep at times. Especially when it agrees with their opinions. Do you ever do that?

Actually, my quick answer is...maybe. If I read something that just doesn't smell right, I'll try to do some research before I react. I don't like to be caught with egg on my face. It's better to be proactive.

the point is Trump was the Front running GOP contender in 2014.  The liberal CBC knew what he was about and his position on removing NAFTA.

This is becoming a more inclusive world, so we need to ban people like Donald Trump and Boris Johnson to prove that we are making progress on that front.

Not everything has to be an us vs them issue fellas. The left is criticized, justifiably, when they go out of their way to be offended by everything. While I am a firm believer the CBC should be defunded and they ARE a very left leaning broadcaster, this whole Trump/Home Alone thing is just ridiculous. Go after the CBC or any media for any legitimate slant they’ve taken, but this is just stupid.

This shouldn’t be what conservatism is. But then again, conservatives haven’t been conservative for a long time (when was the last balanced budget in Canada or the US?).

While we're writing the rules for inclusivity,  lets ban Conservative Student's Opinions on Campus, Conservative YouTube Creators, Comedians that don't filter their comedy that Triggers Snowflakes...shall I go on, will it be enough if we cancel half the population?...probably not. The subsidized tyrants in organizations like the CBC engender this destructive behavior so let's just help them along with a number of suggestions.

Beardo, I am going to add a very important one...Sun News Network, which was ruled against by The CRTC and the Canadian Courts in their battle to have equal opportunity with mandatory cable coverage as a level playing field along with the left leaning incumbents CBC News and CTV News. Because they had a conservative slant, they got the "Erase Trump Treatment" by being relegated as a pay channel up in the 500's. while the lefty incumbents kept their government mandated "Included" coverage on all the cable network packages.

It is very sad how every little, stupid thing is used as a weapon in a political war.  Embarrassed (to answer your question, 1999-2001 a democrat president and a republican congress)
