Has any one been? It is on my bucket list. The top and bottom. I would be amazed at myself if I did do it. Quite an adventure for this old man. Some thing I can shoot for. Before I do "kick the bucket". laugh

The video link is not the Isle of Man TT.

Here's the TT.

Very different form of race.

Unfortunately he and Duffy didn't see much racing due to crappy weather. They still enjoyed the experience.

actually participating in the race or just watching?

I am pretty sure only a select few on this board would be willing to go much past 150 mph on any cycle, especially in the rain.   Speeds of 180+ mph in insane on 2 wheels IMO takes balls of steel.

Yep, Duffy and I went in 2019. Spent the weekend before in Dublin and then 12 or 13 days on The Isle of Man. We did the homestay which is basically renting someones home and I highly recommend if it is within your budget. The home we rented (2 bdrm, 2 1/2 bath) was within walking distance to the course. The races are at the mercy of the weather and they will halt and/or cancel the race if the course is deemed unsafe (fog on the mountain, water on the course, rain, etc.). Saw some great racing, some interesting motorcycles, walked around the pits, met some great people, and had a lot of fun. On the off days, and when weather cancelled racing, we toured the island and did the regular tourist/sight seeing thing. The only bad part for us was that the weather didn't co-operate and we only saw 3 days when the bikes were running.

As someone has already stated .... DO IT! One piece of advice, you need to make plans and reservations at least a year BEFORE you go. We had the homestay lined-up in 2017 and paid for in 2018. Travel and the Dublin hotel (Holiday Inn Express) reservations were made in early 2019. Keep in mind that you loose a day traveling to Europe. Also, the Isle of Man is part of the UK and they accept credit cards, UK Currency, and Manix Currency (Isle of Man). For the record, Manix Currency is only accepted/used on the Isle of Man and 99% of the time when getting change that's what you get.

PM or email me if you want to discuss more. I will also be at InZane.
