have a noise at idle after engine warms up. goes away with throttle up. sounds like a car water pump, but no leaks, no over heating. Bike get very little use these past few years. Has anyone had timing belt tensioners make noise?.

No, but the cover comes off pretty easily for you to check them. You can run the bike with the cover off. I did.
Not sure of any other source for your noise. Clutch bolts perhaps?

Put a long screwdriver against the water pump and the other end to your ear, see if the sound comes from there. A water pump can be bad without leaking or overheating. Just ask Serk.
