I’m waiting on new tires for my Valk so I pulled out the xj650 pumped up the tires and ran it around town to get some new gas flowing through it.

Here you can see my great exhaust manifold fix. The bolts snapped in the block so I put on an outrigger to hold the heads on. Works great. No. I’ve never cleaned the carbs.

I am very happy with my wife’s riding, her nervous phase is over and she is very comfortable riding now.  Just under 50 miles she is up to with today’s ride however I’m not sure how long she will ride on a stock Rebel 300 seat.

My back has been killing me so I haven't been on the valk in a couple months but I took Doña's ninja around the block and introduced her to the new year riding tradition. She only has about a mile of riding in the culdesac under her belt so far but took it for a spin too

Layers and quality of layers. Many have heated gear. I never have but want/need some.

Glad you and Stan got out today

I just had the old Killamanjaro jacket over a cotton shirt today Mark  although the mesh jacket would have been ok with the liner

Should have plugged in the heated gloves cause when I put my cold hand on my wife's shoulder she was not a happy camper  coolsmiley
and gave me a few words

When it gets below 32 or I have a long ride planned I use the electric jacket liner  I would rather ride in the cold than the heat/humidity  Really love it from 40 to 70

Have no idea how you rebels from the deep south or folks like Hay in Houston can handle it

I don't enjoy riding in the 30s (or worse).  The bleakness (as well as the cold) of winter also makes me enjoy riding less.

I will roll down my windows for a blast of fresh air, for a couple minutes.

I do enjoy riding all year round, as long as its 40 or above and not icy.  The changing of the seasons and landscapes makes for enjoyable smelling of the rose rides.  Lots to see, different vegetation and critters.   Yeah even enjoy seeing the forest rats as long as I see them first.

Yup, probably at least late March, if not sometime in April for me.  I prefer to hold off until there's been at least one good rain to rinse the salt from the roads, but some years I can't wait that long.  It rained briefly here on December 20th, which is very rare in December in Calgary.

My much more haphazard loop (I got myself on unfamiliar roads some of the time)
had me right here that day... I hit Unity Church Road after that. We ought to meet
up at the Rider Mountain Church parking lot at the 76 end of Unity Church Road
for some of these 2 hour rides...

I think you're a little like me in that a short ride can appear out of thin air.
