Very cool making friends from all over the country from this love of Valkyries. My friend JimC has made his yearly pilgrimage to St. Aug again with some new wheels this time. The 7k mile black beauty IS he stole a while back looks very sharp [if you ask me] with the white wall tires, more nostalgic. I've seen them on other color Valks and thought "Meh, just o.k."   but they really pop on a Black IS. Nice easy ride today for some Mexican lunch. very windy out but good temps. Looking forward to the next ride Jim.  cooldude

Thanks Mike,

Today was a three smile day for sure!

The normal smile that we all get while riding a Valkyrie,

One for the great shirt sleeve tour around the area in 80 degree weather mid January,

And last but not least, a huge smile while riding and thinking about our VRCC brethren back home in Wisconsin (and other northern area's) suffering with their bikes put away till spring.

Thanks again for a great time.

Got to ride the Jack Attack Attic Rat Rod Today for a few miles. Very impressive throttle response, I was able to feel the increase in Power immediately. Next time I get to ride it  Roll Eyes I will ride it like I should have  Evil Sweet ride Jack, Love everything about it.

WOW, WOW, Hold up there Nick,   ???   that Black beauty almost already has "sixlow" badges on the tank.   smitten    I've offered the bank to get that ride !  uglystupid2     Dangit Jack, be careful who gets to twist that throttle cuz it's addicting by the time 2nd gear is used up.   2funny
Honestly it is something to feel isn't it Nick ?

Your welcome Jim

Sixlow

Nick and I swapped rides for a little bit cause I been wanting to try his FJR.
I liked the feel, it's quick, nimble, effortless and seems to fit me just right, I bet it must be a great ride for the NC twisties.

Thanks Nick, appreciate the opportunity for a test ride  cooldude

Ron and Robin, a couple from St. Pete area joined us today, Ron rides a cool 2003 Black Valk and Robin rides a Kawasaki 650 Versys (when I say "rides" I mean she rides with skills  cooldude), they are both experienced riders that I got to meet last month and accepted an invite for today, hopefully Nick did not scared them away and they will join us again in the near future  Grin

Steve and Larue showed up at the dumpster, they could not ride to lunch but we did get to meet Mike and Leslie at Cinnamon Sticks.
All in all, it was a great day for a ride, I was starting to have withdrawals from not riding for the last month, you know that feeling of "feel right at home" when riding................ well that was me today and enjoyed every bit of it cooldude cooldude

On a side note, I have not been to the dumpster in a long time and it was great to see Steve Taurus's plaque on the picnic table, gave it a little tap to say "HI"  cooldude
Thanks Steve Eddy for making it happen  cooldude

My apologies for derailing this thread but once I answered a couple of concerns.............. cough... cough...... Mr Sixlow ........... seems like I had to finish my thoughts before I forget since I am now 51  Grin
BTW Robin has also expressed a liking for the Attic Rat Rod if I ever decide to sell, I think she is next on the test ride list  Grin

I bet when you see a sleeping bear in the woods you'd poke at it Jack,    Grin   We were good till the last BTW line 2funny.. You just stirring the pot with that next on the test ride list..
No worries on the derail, I do it to myself.
Glad you got to ride the FJR and I know it is a sweet ride that out handles most in its class, Nick does have good taste.
Now I've been imagining the WW on my next ride ! but not sure it would go with the satin finish, also I know I have a new exhaust and valve covers on her already, might need an updated pic here Jack.

Yes it does Terry, and I like it. An IS tank on a stripped down bobber makes it appear massive.   cooldude

 2funny 2funny 2funny

It does look HUGE Terry, it is an IS tank and the perseption is augmented by the small seat and small and lowered fender.
If I had to do it again I would probably try the standard tank instead although it is really nice to not hit reserve till 200-210 miles

I hope people don't think I'm over compensating for shortcomings  2funny  2funny 2funny

Here is a newer pic with Two Brothers exhaust which I think is one of the best if not the best aftermarket exhaust in the performance department, not so much in the looks department but I really like the sound and performance.
Besides the exhaust I also raised the rear fender by 2" and added some cool 1500 valve covers.

Shock are K-Tech Bullit shocks, they are not specific for Valkyrie but I bought them from a guy in CA that built a custom Valk and ended up not using them. Got a great deal on them considering their retail price.
K-Tech is a UK based performance suspension company.

Never heard that version of the TBR exhaust.  I did have the 6 exhaust version on my Tourer for one trip to Leesburg one year.  Too loud for my taste and my ears, had a headache when I got back home.  Fender looks good.

I love this bike Jack.   cooldude   (And the pipes are perfect for it.)

Understanding the look, I'd need an Ultimate seat to make my ass happy though.

And NO whitewalls.   Grin
