Yep, a diesel engine  will run for as long as you want it to and on a whole lot less fuel. Diesel exhaust temps are cooler by quite a bit than gas engines. Diesel fuel stores better than gasoline.  That tractor will be happy just plugging away and not having to work very hard. An exhaust hose can be slipped on and emptied away to wherever you want it.
