Need some help. Had a guy come up next to me and told me my right brake/tail light was out. Had time today to replace it. I had replaced all taillight and brake lights with LED's last summer, so the problem didn't begin there. The bike came with the ''Back Off' mod when I bought it. Also of note I had installed Jersey's Signal  Boss when it first came out. The auto cancel feature of that stopped working a few weeks ago, however I don't think it's tied into the brake lights.

The brake lights would flash a few times then go solid and now after putting in the new bulb it looks like the brake lights are on all the time. Did a continuity test on the switches and they seem fine.

Any ideas?

UPDATE

Ran up to Advance Auto and picked up a standard 7743 bulb so I could actually tell if the dual filament was working as the LED's are so damn bright I had assumed the brake light was on steady. It actually is the opposite. Can't get the brake lights to come on. Tried both the front and the rear switches and nothing.
Guess the next step is to remove the mods one at a time and see what happens. Trial and error so they say.

With a pure stock setup (and regular bulbs), my brake light took to staying on about 5 seconds after my foot came off the pedal.  It was the brake light switch down there; it needed a good cleaning and lube, and then readjusted with the wheel.  Fixed my issue.

Might want to check with Jersey, but I believe if the Signal Boss looses power you need to reset your auto cancel feature.

Although very little power is being used, the Signal Boss is using power even when your bike is not running.

You can disconnect the power to the Signal Boss and than reconnect and reset to see if it will help.

I had my hand brake switch fail. Replaced, kept the old one as a spare after cleaning it up.

The foot brake, can't remember what happened or what I did to fix it, but I adjusted the switch unit, and lubed the pedal pivot bolt. I think it was sticking down, manually lifted the pedal, which is why I lubed the pivot. Brake light never came on, because it never turned off.

You are right.  It should be a yearly maintenance item to remove and lube the rear brake pedal.  Mine would not return and the brake light stayed on

I actually disconnected both switches and I'm still getting power to both leads of the front brake switch. I was able to rule out the Back Off module. Finally got a colored wiring diagram and I'm going to have to track down where the problem is. Gonna be a long weekend.
