Longtime NW WA St resident and recent Valkyrie owner. Bought a 2001 IS basket case and spent about 4 months tearing it apart and rebuilding it. Carbs, engine tune, desmog, bearings, diff service, lighting upgrade and paint in progress.
Would like to get to know other Valkyrie enthusiastic owners for rides and to just convers about the bikes.
I'm handy with a wrench and repaired and serviced all my past rides. Just saying.
This Valk is by far the best ride I have ever had. First full dress so to speak but handles fantastic as you all know.
If there are any planned spring and summer rides north of Seattle area id be obliged to ride with.
Best regards

Dan

Hi Dan,

I'm from the Snohomish county area.. (Marysville) when the weather gets a bit better, you will likely see some rides posted.

We use to have a lot of activity with planed rides around here. It seams everyone has scattered or doesn't like to ride anymore.

I'm always up for a ride.. but recently hurt my shoulder. seeing an ortho doc today to find our how bad it is and how long before I can move my arm.

Post up a ride... maybe someone will join in.

where do you live?

I have met one other person from the Marysville area that rides a Valk tourer. First name is Dick. You may have seen him. Ride quit a lot when weather is better. Look forward to meeting.

Years of drivin truck and binding loads down took a tole on my left shoulder 10 yrs ago. MRI is required to see whats going on in there. I had torn ligaments needing sewn back together. 6 wks PT and no use of the arm. Most procedures can be done ortho's office in a couple hours.
Best thing I ever did.
Best of luck

Shouldn't you get an MRI first? You know, so the extent of damage is known. The therapy coulkd easily cause more damage.

I know what you mean.
Too many cooks will spoil the broth.
I fall down a flight of stairs at work. the MRI was ordered on my1st Doctor visit.
I am still waiting  for L&I to approve the MRI.

Ortho 'should' complete their part  before any therapy.

Two years ago I over used/abused my left shoulder, couldn't raise my arm any higher than shoulder height. Lots of pain.  Took two weeks to get into a ortho Doc. They did x-rays.  Said needed MRI.   Two weeks to get MRI's.  Then two more weeks to see Doc again.  By that time I had full range of movement and normal strength in that arm.  Did find out that I didn't have cartilage on one bone in the shoulder joint, arthritis on another, plus tears in bicep ligaments.  Doc told me to continue doing what I was doing, but if the problem comes back, then will operate.

Don't know about Canada's Doc's, but sometimes here it takes a few weeks to get anything done, unless you have broken bones or large holes in one's body.

Hello RD, glad to see another rider around. I haven't read all the posts I've missed, so don't know if this has been mentioned.

The Seattle area guys get together every 2nd Sat of the month. They should have posted by now for Mar, this Sat.

Looking forward to meeting up.
