I think Rob should change his handle to Permatex. AKA The Thread locker....
To be honest he isn't as bad as Strong Eagle or Daddies but he's a close third....
Lol, that's funny. Seriously. But inaccurate. It's the responses from the majority to comments from the minority (us libs) that lock most threads. It's true. Look it up. I don't need to look up anything. The simple explanation is the majority of members here are conservatives. So when you guys come on with your dissenting opinion (which you are allowed) causes us to defend our position so in essence you are the cause of the thread getting locked. So if you would refrain from responding to political threads they wouldn't get locked. It's as simple as that.... Wow, that's some pretty circuitous logic you got workin there....lol. So basically, it's your way or the highway? It doesn't work that way. Try harder. Oh, and bless your little heart.

What are you guys doing?? Meathead is sticking a screw driver in your ribs and twisting it...he likes doing that. Don't give him the dignity of a response. He does not deserve one.
Been saying this for years, now. Ruined this board. I think you guys are being a little harsh. It's called a difference of opinion, get used to it. While I whole heartedly disagree with most of what my head brother says, he has a right to his opinion. Expressing it is also his right. You guys are better than those who are intolerant of a different point of view. Has nothing to do with the difference of opinion.

Yes, this is a blatant attempt to redirect with levity..... This made me chuckle... I hope it makes you chuckle too, yes even you. Good one but it does give thoughts to Trump. He could step out to face the next gaggle of reporters and do just that, rip up the articles of impeachment. Yes, he could. But it wouldn't matter. That whole impeached forever thing. Like tearing up that traffic ticket, it still sticks. I know it's a big word for some. Acquitted. If you go to court and your traffic ticket is rejected by the court, Acquitted. Then there's been no crime nor punishment. Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz, who will be part of President Trump’s impeachment legal defense team, pushed back against Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) statements that impeachment is forever by stating that impeachment “is only a grand jury presentment” and “disappears” upon acquittal, just like an indictment does if someone is acquitted at trial. I rest my case. Do you?

NY Post On Pelosi At Trump State of the Union: She Was A ‘Tore Loser’ Speaker Nancy Pelosi had had enough last night. President Trump delivered an excellent State of the Union. He touted the blue-collar comeback, the great American comeback. Unemployment is at historic lows across the board, seven million new jobs have been created, and small business and consumer confidence have reached their highest levels in years. Apparently, these facts are just too much for Nancy Pelosi to handle. That, and they hate America; Democrats remained seated for the vast majority of the speech. They hate this man. And that hatred was manifested with Pelosi ripping up the speech as soon as the president concluded his remarks. And people are disappointed in him for not shaking her hand as he took the podium. Yeah, Pelosi can go shove it. The entire speech was filled with things that EVERYONE could support—and the Democrats just sat there. Kevin McCarthy Acquitted for life. https://twitter.com/GOPLeader/status/1225170697103847424

Democrat Law Professor Calls on Pelosi to Resign George Washington University Law professor and self described Democrat Jonathan Turley is calling for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to resign if she can’t maintain the dignity of her position. Great Idea ‘Ripped Our Hearts Out’: SOTU Guest Whose Brother Was Murdered Reacts To Pelosi Ripping Up Speech https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=6&v=aZ0r8jpehrw&feature=emb_logoPelosi trashes Trump address: 'He shredded the truth, so I shredded his speech' Trump, Pelosi said, “disrespected” the House chamber and used it as a “backdrop for a reality show… to give a speech that had no connection with reality.” Wednesday’s private remarks marked the first time Pelosi had addressed the Tuesday night incident to House Democrats. Pelosi said she had not planned to tear up Trump’s speech, but she felt “liberated” when she did so. Her actions came after Trump, as he entered the chamber and ascended the dais, appeared to snub Pelosi by ignoring her extended hand. “I didn’t go in there to tear up the speech, and I didn’t even care that he didn’t shake my hand. And true to form the deez led by pelousy have vowed it ain't over. How many times does one need to be knocked on ones keester to realize you ain't got jack kaka on The Man-President Donald J. Trump. But i have an idea bout that. investigate all ya want. BUT instead of taxpayers footin the freight on the investigation they-deez-should be compelled to foot the freight outin their own wallet(s). Again-investigate as long as you want as long as you-deez-pay fer it yer own damn selves. No/none/nada gubmint funds in however many more investigations the deez initiate. Cuz most of us here already KNOW yer investigation IS doomed to yet Another failure. Another knocked on yer keester as it were. RIDE SAFE.

Clearly, this impeachment was important to our political ruling class, to the people, and to many members of this forum family (thus all the vitriol). Important for both acquittal, and conviction. Important as a personal dedication of what kind of Country each of us wants, now and going forward.
I've always been politically interested and motivated (and always vote), but far too many of the US people are not. This perhaps has not been so important historically, but with the country nearly as evenly divided as ever before, and as polarized between sides as during Lincoln's election in 1860, I am hoping this impeachment spectacle serves some useful purpose as a wake up call to stop sitting on the sidelines and to take an active role in supporting the democratic republic each citizen wants for themselves and their children. Both sides better realize it's all hands on deck going forward.
I found it interesting reading that that.. democrats said impeachment “went as well as it could go.” There was significant consternation among House Democrats about heading down the impeachment road at all over the summer, ..... but Democratic leaders felt they had to get in front of the impeachment movement and embrace it – or they may have been steamrolled by the progressive wing of the party.
Be this as it may, the final vote was indeed straight down party lines (except TDS Romney for the abuse of power article). Of course they could not (ever) get the 67-vote supermajority needed to convict and remove the president. That was always so, so any crying over it seems childish and stupid.
And they couldn't even get a symbolic (Pyrrhic) victory in a simple majority with 52-48 against conviction on the abuse of power charge, and 53-47 against conviction on the obstruction charge.
I suppose the Dems can take some solace in the fact they stuck together in party unity, but my takeaway is that not one of them had the courage to vote as an impartial juror who heard a case that was simply not proven by the prosecution beyond any reasonable doubt (or even a preponderance of the evidence). I suppose there was a lot of behind the scenes ass kicking and threatening on this point (and it worked).
The fact this went down entirely on party lines (screw Romney) proves beyond any doubt that it was a purely politically motivated assault on a duly elected president, and that is all that it was. It was an assault on the will of the people (through the lawfully controlling electoral college). It was not pushed forward by any principled motivation to serve the US people or the Country, only to serve the power of the democratic party. And it failed. And they knew it would fail, and they did it anyway. And so now having failed, is the Country better off? Are the people better off? Or are they just more polarized and unhappy than ever? So was that the goal all along?
But it did prove to what lengths, ways and means that party will go to consolidate it's own political power over all of us regular people. And I am hoping the US people see this, and never forget it going forward.

Great post Jess.
I would add this. I can guarantee that if any President, including Trump, commits a crime that clearly and obviously meets the Constitutional standards for Impeachment, I'm at the head of the line demanding it.
Not even close here. Not even in the same universe.

You know the ones in her district, much of the rest of the country seems to feel differently about her. Her leadership has put the democratic party into turmoil they may never recover from. She started quite a LONG TIME before that. She's called him a liar, an illegitimate President, and so much more. She intentionally squashed a meeting by calling him names in a press conference an hour before the meeting. And she rammed this partisan crap down our throats against her own minimum standard of bipartisanship. She's allowed the likes Tlaib and waters to spew their hatred for the last 3 years. She allowed Schiff to LIE to America for 3 years. She started her crap waaaaaaaaaay before the announcement.

It would seem that Americans (or at least Iowans) have finally figured out that Biden is suspect (if not guilty) of using his power to hold up funds getting the prosecutor of his son's employer fired. You know, Hunter Biden (the son that only attended two meetings, one a fishing trip and had absolutely no experience but got paid (reportedly) $83,000/month). Oh Wait, he not only admitted it, he confirmed he did just that.
Democrat leadership should learn the definition of hypocrisy. It does appear most of the electorate already knows.

That might be one of the most bizarre responses I’ve heard. Because I voiced an opposing opinion it forced you into vitriolic behavior which you couldn’t control and got threads locked. And it’s my fault ? Yes, most of the posting members here are conservatives. That’s great, most of my friends are also. Has it ever occurred to you that there are many liberal, or libertarian, or non political members who don’t post or who have left altogether because of this prevailing attitude ? It was sarcasm. I can't help it you and Bob can't get that. I have been in this club since 99 (shorty after it was formed) when I bought my Valkyrie. Much longer then you. I have seen many members come and go. Including members I didn't agree with politically. Two of the worst liberals were Strong Eagle and DaddieO. They were two of most vitriol and vile people I ever had the displeasure of conversing on the board with. They took the name calling and vitro to a new level. DaddieO even called Gman a racist. Being the wonderful woman Gary is married to that was a very stupid observation. Although you're not as bad as they were, but with your condescending and insulting comments you're a close third. You called my brother and I stupid. You apologized but I will never forget. I will admit I get caught up in the fray and have wrongly used insults to get my point across. My brother has not commented on the board since June and my father left the board quit awhile before his death. Guess why? I have considered leaving because the board has become the Meathead show. You post more then anyone else (do you even work because you're always on here). But this is my club as much as it yours so no I'm not leaving......

Sarcasm ? You are right, it doesn't appear that to me. I don't expect you to forget my insult. I wouldn't either. I try to minimize my mistakes, but I still make them from time to time. When my mistakes come out as insults I try to amend for them. As I have done with you and Pyschotic Bovine. I assumed his not posting had to do with the PowWow ride. I have had little dialog with him. Your Dad and I, may he rest in peace, had very few acrimonious incidents. His stated reasons for leaving had little to do with me. As Willow can attest, I stuck up for him more than once. I hope nobody leaves the forum, you included. I put in 50 and a half hours last week, probably going to be 49 or so this week. Most of it lifting up to 8,000 lbs. of product every day. Yeah, I work a little.

As I watched the address what I saw was Trump gave a copy to Pence then Pelosi Then he turned toward the teleprompter and while he was mostly turned that is when Pelosi made a half hearted attempt to reach out toward Trump
I will watch it again on youtube but that is what I saw

Pelosi started her cheap shots by NOT giving the traditional announcement for the President. She is a classless, anti American, hypocritical socialist.
I was ONLY speaking of "At the SOTU" speech.

As I watched the address what I saw was Trump gave a copy to Pence then Pelosi Then he turned toward the teleprompter and while he was mostly turned that is when Pelosi made a half hearted attempt to reach out toward Trump
I will watch it again on youtube but that is what I saw
If it was me I would have been sorely tempted to spit in her ugly face but hey that is just me. You dont make kissy with some person who wants to hurt you
This might help. If he doesn't see her hand, maybe an eye exam is in order. Not that it matters, after all her and her cohorts have put this honorable man through, were I him I wouldn't shake her hand either, but he was obviously already pivoting around before she theatrically put her hand out for later plausible deniability.....
