Snow to ice to rain today....2 to 4 inches of snow before turning to ice.
Then tomorrow will bring rain to ice to an additional 3 inches of snow...

Who'da hell knows what this will end up being ??
Plenty of food and beer/wine/liquor stashed.....
Can't wait to watch all the jackasses go by here....I'll have my tractor fully fueled
and a couple tow ropes and chains on board !!!

No snow, but an icy mess this morning in my little slice of MA. 2 hour delay for my son's school. Looking like rain from here on out... so far.

I’m out of here.   Sitting at TF Green airport getting ready for Naples Florida.
I totally understand why people retire and live in Florida.   I must be getting old !!!!
I’m bringing Adam with me this time.  We are going to the “Cars on 5th”  show Saturday.

A couple of hours ago we had < 3" and it started to change over to rain, totally by-passing the predicted ice.
Less than an hour ago it switched back to snow and came down heavy....
Now it is changing to ice pellets.....

Traffic has about stopped, so it must be getting greasy.

Same here. An icy mess. A little slippery on the morning commute.

Freezing mist overnight and continuing this morning....
Expecting up to 1/2" of ice before changing back to snow....

100# of ice melt pellets scattered across the driveway...
Close to 1/2" of ice already covering everything, and it's continuing to add more,
as it's still misting and freezing on contact.
When the breeze kicks up, you sure can head the trees creaking and cracking....
If we get any amount of snow on top of the ice, there could be power outages...  tickedoff

That sucks. Hopefully you won't lose power. But if you do, I hope you can still use your pellet stove to keep warm.

It's raining down here and 39 degrees. Wind is supposed to howl tonight. I'd rather just have a good ole snowstorm compared to all this messy mix we've been getting. The long range forecast for Metro Boston doesn't show any meaningful snowfall for the next two weeks.   Undecided

Temps have dropped from 34* to 20* .... and the breeze has picked up considerably.
I went out a couple hours after spreading the ice melt and scraped all the ice slush off the driveway.
Everything is beginning to solidify....
Yep, generator will be fired up if we lose power....
