That the seat locks on to. The bolt is still there but nothing else. I can still see the end of the cable that is supposed to lock and unlock the latch.
Does anybody know the part number before I look it up?

Did you look really good on top of the engine...tends to collect dropped bolts, washers, nuts, and maybe a missing seat latch.

There is absolutely no way it could have landed on top of the engine. That's because of its placement on the bike. I suspect that somehow it just broke off and fell straight down onto the pavement.
I looked really hard everywhere.
