As i stated in the 53/53 post it were a bit chilly-leastways fer this old guy. Tried to recall had I seen this fix or not. I KNOW if this has already been touched on someone will say something.
I was looking for spats or those legging things I wore in boot camp in 1964. Looked at some of the options and either I preffered to Not spend the loot or-O K didn't wanna spend the loot!  2funny Inspiration or the light went on or-O K again-I took dollar generals clone of saran wrap-self clinging plastic wrap-and wrapped it around my jeans and my boots. NOT tight but snug-got it right the first time and it stayed wrapped the entire 104 miles. You know those cooler/cold days where that cooler/colder wind finds ALL the gaps in yer clothing and walks up year trouser leg(s) and freezes the boyz? While NOT 100% perfect I do give it 98.9785% wind stop effectiveness. I only took about 3 wraps per leg. Again-NOT tight-I Never lost circulation and legs had normal color when I got back home. I noticed when I stopped the wrapped area felt warmer then the rest of the leg did-each one. Hope this is helpful to someone.  cooldude RIDE SAFE.

I made my own. Nice ballistic nylon, hooks over the toe and under the heel. Velcro up the back. Works great.

Rain Gear or Full Leathers with cinches at the cuffs along with tall boots will stop wind from getting through.

I don't know how you keep the cold air out with less than 8 inch boots.  Low quarters will never keep you warm. And then I use boot blowsers.

Snap them on just above your boots, or on the top of them, and roll the pants legs under.

These thing are selling for dollars, I used to get them at military clothing sales for 20 cents each.

And this is basic; riding pants need to be longer than walking around pants.

As a kid we used to go looking for old truck tire inner tubes. Clean the inside after cutting them off at the right length, then slip your jeans covered leg in it. Once on, tuck them into your boots or pull down over the boots and wrap a leather cord around the top of the boot to keep wind out. Those were our homemade chaps, they usually fit snug enoug at the top so keeping them up wasn't a problem. If so, cut a slot near the top and run a leather cord through it and then run the belt through the cord when tied in a loop. Inner tubes aren't as plentiful today but I'll bet it's an idea that would still work.

I'm a cheap bastard. I like your idea ! Normally when it's cold I do the hubcapsc method and tuck my pants into my socks. My wife makes fun of me because she's more concerned of how I (and she) looks to other people. I could care less. It works. But your idea got me thinking. When one gets caught in a rainstorm rain gear works fine except for the ankle and foot area. I think a few wraps around the boot and ankle might work. Now I've got to throw in some Saran Wrap in my tool saddlebag.  cooldude

That is why I own 9 inch boots.

Used to carry garbage bags for multiple uses, can't tell ya how many times they ended up on my feet with the closing ties tied up over my calves.   Had to stop once and get some plastic bags.   They didn't work as well cause the wouldn't close up snug.
